About Mrs. Peach

At approximately, 9pm last night, Cinderlla found her shoes! In fact, she was never missing them to begin with…

If I were in a fairy tale, this is how my story would have ended. Ever since I found my wedding dress, I have been on the lookout for the perfect shoes. But being on a pretty tight budget, it was hard to find what I wanted and be able to afford it. At some point, I even thought about wearing anything that gave me 3+ inches in height. Afterall, my feet/shoes would be hidden underneath my dress and nobody would ever notice what I’d be wearing. But then, I thought about the shoes I wear in my office…

Say hello to my comfy, lime green, office slippers:

Yep. This is what I change into as soon as I step into my office. They are incredibly comfy. But they are incredibly opposite from sexy. (I just choose comfort over sexiness when I work.) Wearing these shoes has made me realize that the shoes I wear affect the way I feel! If I’m wearing my tall boots with that click when I walk, I feel beautiful, sexy, powerful. On the other hand, when I wear my comfy office shoes, I feel a bit clumsy and slow as the slippers sort of drag and I am short! So I kept searching and searching for the perfect wedding shoes that would make me feel beautiful on that special day.

Last night, I found them! They were on super sale from Guess for $33!!

They were beautiful, and I felt beautiful in them!! …for about 2 minutes, only when I was standing still. I brought them home and awkwardly wore them around for about 5 minutes in the house until my feet started to hurt. Because they were tall stiletto heels, I had a hard time keeping my balance. At this rate, I knew I couldn’t dance let alone walk properly in these shoes. And then, I looked over to my shoerack and saw these:

My summer sandals I bought from Aldo from over 2 years ago. I compared the height of these and the silver shoes I had just bought and *gasp* they were the same - 3 inches tall! I dunno why I never noticed that before. And although they were not brand new or the bright silver color I had hoped for, they still made me feel good when I walked in them. Most importantly, I could walk and dance in them (I wore them to my college senior ball)! So I think I’ll stick with these shoes. They will be my something “old.” I will save money. And I will not fall/trip down the aisle or be in pain from blisters. Nope, I’ll be prancin and dancin the night away~

Silly me, looking for something I never was missing in the first place.

Cheers to finding your perfect shoes (and not having to buy new ones!) Yea, as much as I want cute, special shoes, they absolutely have to be comfortable enough to dance in!

I have one warning about wearing shoes with no back… you need to be very, very, careful. The dress will have a tendancy to get caught in your heel. That is the first thing I thought of when I looked at this shoe. Try them on with your dress first. Maybe they will be fine.. just a warning!

Sorry, but I think you should keep looking. I love the silver ones and the green office slippers, I think you need to find something new and beautiful.

I disagree w/ Nancy — I love them! So they’re not as cute as the Guess ones or not as comfy as the office sneakers, but honestly how many people will see your shoes? They will only be peeking out from under the dress when you’re sitting and even then they’ll be under the tablecloth. Plus if they do peek out, they’re white and pretty!

I can’t think of any wedding I’ve been to where I remember what kind of shoes the bride wore.

Take that $50 you would’ve spent on shoes and treat your honey to dinner and a movie. Trust me - it’s a much better investment :)

OH NO! If you love them wear them! I’m doing the exact same thing. I have a pair that match my dress, are comfortable, and will not cause me to break my neck walking on grass. Besides, I’d rather spend the money on something fun, like alcohol for the wedding!

Hi ms peach! i think that as long as you are comfortable and you feel beautiful you should wear whatever shoes you want. if you are on a budget AND your shoes will not even be seen then why not wear shoes that you know for sure will not hurt your feet or keep you from dancing the night away?!?!

Hi Miss Peach!! :)

Hehe, sometimes things we already have just end up working, huh? If you feel any doubt though, maybe you can keep looking for your dream silver ones to wear during the ceremony and for pictures, and change to your comfy wedge heels for dancing if the silver ones don’t feel as good. http://www.myglassslipper.com has some good sales now and then, and even has a $15 section (albeit the choices there are much more limited in style/size). I’ll keep my eyes peeled for you if I see any good deals!
