Aisle Runners

December 21st, 2006 @ 11:58 am by Mrs. Plum

I really like this aisle runner I saw from The Knot:

I really want a cute aisle runner like this one on thicker, satin-like fabric, but do not want to spend hundreds of dollars on it. Does anyone know how to make it?? It doesn’t seem quite as easy as the paper runners where you can just trace the design from underneath the paper…

Any ideas/tips?

Yes, I second what Chrissy says. She may charge more for this since it’s got the edging, but I think it’s around $70 for her to do one and she is AMAZING. :)

is this from someone’s bio on the knot? if so, i’d love to know where you found it.
Those are my colors and even our initials & I’d like to see this bride’s other ideas.

Besides the tracing method, I heard of ladies using a projector to cast the monogram on more opaque fabric then using fabric paint. You could try that. I’m hoping to DIY this, too, so I wrote up a bunch of intructions for myself :-)

I’d guess that projectors or stencils would work best :) They’re quite cheap… usually only $25-30 at craft stores (and less with those handy 40-50% off coupons).
I’ve seen reasonably priced fabric runners on eBay ~$30 too … and it’s already on the roller!

Check out the knottie bio of Furfnslo. She did a DIY runner and has directions on using a projector to make them.

Check out KrystalChris (knot bio). I think she did hers for around $30!
