Although there are so many talented bakers in New York City, my favorite has got to be Ohio based baker Wendy Kromer. Her work is beautifully detailed, yet never overly ornate. It’s no surprise that Miss Plum is having a Wendy Kromer inspired cake at her wedding.

Wendy has pretty much designed every cake you’ve ever seen in Martha Stewart Weddings. Her designs often feature adornments like flowers, fruit, and leaves made out of gum paste or marzipan that you can order from her online shop. She’ll even match your wedding palette exactly if you mail in fabric swatches.

Your local baker can create a plain cake and then attach these details so you can have your own Wendy Kromer inspired confection. You can order sets of strawberries, autumn leaves, marzipan cherries, various flowers, birds, and the woodland theme above. Orders have to be placed 3-6 months before your wedding, and they’ll be shipped to you two weeks before the big day.
