Our Wedding Bands

December 22nd, 2006 @ 10:55 am by Mrs. Raspberry

While in Buffalo this past weekend, we finalized our orders for our wedding bands.

Mr. Raspberry wanted plain gold (boring, but what he wanted) and I decided on this band with the pave, which I think looks great with my 3 stone engagement ring.

I was a little disappointed that our bands weren’t the same metal. I have always thought that was a nice touch, but I guess most people don’t have matching bands anymore.

What are your thoughts?

I think I’d want matching ones… as a symbol of unity or ONEness. But your choice is soo pretty! I guess it’d look too feminine on a guy, haha

My husband was set on matching ones at first but I wanted some bling in my ring and he of course did not. We kept them at least the same metal (white gold) but chose styles we each liked.
I think both our rings are gorgeous and the color/style doesn’t really matter-I think the symbol of the ring itself and what’s behind it is most important!

It’s hard to match bands, since usually women’s bands have a little bling and men’s are more often plain. But FI and I both have white gold and milgrain (I won him over to the idea) so even though they’re not matching, there’s a little bit of symmetry.

Matching is nice, but usually the woman wants her band to go with her engagment ring, so that means that the man has to wear something that goes with her engagment ring too, which may not be his taste. I’m going with a platinum band to match my engagment ring–I’m not sure how plain or not. My fiance is totally against gems on a wedding band, and I do like the look of totally plain bands, but my engagment ring has some pretty leaves that would look lovely copied on a wedding band. Also, my boss has a beautiful band ring bought from Aaron Faber in NYC that has a design of lily of the valley just in the front. I love that ring, if they could do a slimmer version in polished platinum–it’s a copy of a vintage ring–I’d happily go for that. However, my fiance is not going to want lily of the valley for himself. Go figure. I told him to choose whatever: gold, titanium, platinum, and he expressed an interest in platinum, so we may end up with matching rings after all.

Our rings don’t match at all. His is black and silver colored titanium and is two pieces that fit together. (Ultra modern looking.) My e-ring and band look a lot like your band. Even though our rings could not look more different I love the pictures of them together from our wedding. Reminds me how unique our tastes and personalities are and that we still came together to be one! =) (Cheez, I know.)

I would like ours to match, but FI wants yellow gold and I want white gold. We still have some time to figure out a compromise, but I don’t think he’s budging!

Hey! I think we have the same wedding ring! My fiance’s ring doesn’t match with mine either. His is white gold and with double milgrain. I don’t mind too much though…

When we get married, I’ll either have a platinum or white gold wedding band. I hate the look of yellow gold, and I can’t wear it in my ears, so my jewelry would never match….hehe…I’m crazy like that.

Andrew doesn’t like the look of yellow gold either, and he’ll end up either getting platinum, white gold, or maybe titanium or tungsten. Whatever he likes, he can have. It’s his wedding band after all.

Right now, my promise ring is a white gold with 7 diamonds, and his ring that I gave him is black stainless steel…looks very sharp, and it’s a great contrast against my ring. Love it! :)
