Iphoto By Apple

December 26th, 2006 @ 9:42 am by Mrs. Apple

I love photos and creating scrapbooks for myself, family, and friends. Apple offers these nifty IPhoto books. All you need to do is select a template, select your photos, upload them and you’re done! You can even include text, change your themes on every page, and crop and rotate photos.

Here are some fun themes you can choose from.

Hardcover formal

iPhoto Large Hardcover

Picture book
iPhoto Small Softcover

Modern lines

iPhoto Medium Softcover

Hardcover Travel

iPhoto Large Hardcover

These would be great as moh gifts, bridesmaid gifts, or bridal shower gifts! For weddingbee readers who can’t afford a professional photographer, this would be a great alternative!

I have created and ordered both MyPublisher and iPhoto books.

I found the iphoto software to have a lot more different design/ layout options, to have MUCH better photo enhancement capabilities, and to be easier to use. The paper and resolution are exactly the same for both. But the iPhoto hardcover isn’t as durable (iphoto has a dinky sticker, wheras Mypublisher has a nice window that peeks into a photo image).

Overall, I prefer iPhoto, but I wish it had a nicer hardcover!

I understand you can create your own fun layouts and import your photoshop (or similar application) files into iPhoto if you want a little more flare than what their designs offer. I know they were having a ridiculous sale for the holidays, too!

Sign up for email updates, ladies, and it saves you every time! :-)

I am wondering if anyone has used Iphoto, MyPublisher and Blurb and compare the quality? I am planning to make a photobook for our wedding and for my baby boy (I have a son who is turning 1 in a couple weeks). Overall, which is better??

virgivirgie - I wish I could give you my two cents but I haven’t used any of the ones above.
I’ve read wonderful things about MyPublisher (super easy functionality if you’re not a computer geek) but I’ve heard IPhoto offers beautiful photo opt’s. Sorry, I wish I could give you more information. I say just pick one out of all that you’ve read about them, i’m sure you will not be disappointed by either! Good luck!

These look great! I ordered MyPublisher albums for our parents after the wedding since we weren’t about to blow another couple grand on albums. Our parents loved them and we get so many compliments on it! I think the different layouts and photo editing iPhoto offers would be a nice addition.

The book looks great. We just used blurb to put together a book of the pictures from our engagement shoot. We made one for our parents and grandparents for the holidays, and they LOVED it. The quality is amazing and everyone we showed it to thought the photographer do it. I have not seen books by the other two, but have seen some done on shutterfly, which also came out good. The hardcover blurb books come with a dust jacket, which adds a really professional touch. I don’t know the prices on the other books, but blurb is very reasonably priced. Hope this helps!

Iphoto outsources to MyPublisher for its printing… which is done on the SAME machine that Blurb uses. So, essentially the product for all three is exactly the same minus the cover. :)
