At the time these things weren’t too funny, but looking back we can laugh!
First off, the florist was very late providing our bouquets and bouts. He was to meet us at the hotels (groom’s and mine were separate) with flowers in tote. Nope. Didn’t happen. We left the hotel to take bridal party pics - guys separate from girls. It wasn’t till the girls arrived at the Cathedral, 30 minutes later than the guys, that the flowers arrived. So, the guys have NO bouts on in any pics of them pre-ceremony. They look like they are attending a funeral- well, that’s a bit of a stretch, but you know what I mean. Upon learning that the flowers were late, Mr. Bop’s brother took things into his own hands! Hehehe.
My cousin’s friend got adult onesies for Christmas similar to these at Dance Store. I thought they looked terribly cute on her and am seriously considering on purchasing one for myself ! They look so comfortable - I mean what could possibily be more comfortable than relaxing at home in flannel during the freezing winters?

I am down with a stomach flu. The word on the street is it’s definitely going around. So, make sure to wash your hands when you get home!
All day I’ve been staring at the Panera Bread’s Catering Menu and wondering what I should order for lunch the day of the wedding. The wedding does not start till much later in the evening and gosh darn it, this girl needs to be fed!
So my question to you is, are you planning to eat the day of the wedding? And at the wedding? If you are already a Mrs., please share what to avoid — ![]()

“Make an elegant invitation statement without the fuss. Stylish invitation sets with matching envelopes, reception and response cards included.”
When I got engaged, I was really at a loss as to who could help me plan our wedding. My parents, while fantastic parental figures, really didn’t have too much of an opinion where the wedding was concerned. The same kind of goes for Mr. Kiwi’s mom - willing to help but really just “tell me what YOU want” instead of giving advice. As for close girl friends, I’ve talked about my lack thereof. It was never a problem for me, not having girl friends- until it came to picking out favors and dress colors. My beer-drinking, sports watching guy friends wanted nothing to do with it. This left me with an odd predicament: planning this wedding all on my own, with random choices made by Mr. Kiwi.
As I became resigned to planning this all with no advice or words of wisdom from my family or future in-laws, something happened. My cousin (technically in-law) Karen started reading Weddingbee. While she doesn’t comment, most times than not she emails me responses to my posts. She doesn’t know how great it feels to have someone to talk to about this wedding. Married with two kids and going to classes, I don’t know how she has the time for me and my wedding- but she does. Her daughter is even our flower girl, and Karen has offered her own wedding-day bracelet for me to borrow.
Although we’ve not yet received our wedding video (go figure, we haven’t picked the soundtrack) there was no contest whatsoever in our choosing Milk and Honey as our videographer. Every video sample of theirs that we saw blew us away. Their work was so cinematic and so not “wedding-y” that we booked them immediately. And, on our wedding day, they were wonderful to have around–unobtrusive but always there.
I just clicked their web site and see that they’re having a stellar offer: book them and get a free video iPod with a recap of your wedding video on it. How freaking awesome is that? Act soon though– it’s only good through 12/31/06!

Lately, if you happened to bump into me at one of the local Barnes and Noble bookstores in the East Bay Area, chances are you’d find me browsing through the ¢¢â€š¬…”Bridal/Etiquette¢¢â€š¬? section. They have a pretty large selection of all books wedding-related, from cake and flower photo books, to numerous publications by The Knot, to countless different wedding planner/journal-type books. While I opted to buy a roomy expandable file box to organize my wedding notes, instead of invest in a planner, I still have made a few book purchases that I felt were really worth the money.

Hi!!
I love the site… but one thing I haven’t seen featured is wedding shoes for garden/outside weddings. Any ideas for cute wedding shoes that won’t sink into the grass?
Thanks,
Kat

Mrs. Lights - Mays Landing, NJ

My dear college friend got married a couple of weekends ago in Hollywood, baby. Overall, it was very fun because the bride and groom looked so happy and glow-y. Catching up with a few tables-full of old friends was fun, too.
Here’s some eye candy, mostly blurry, taken mostly by yours truly [I'm infamous for the blurry pics]. All ceremony pictures were taken by Mr. Lime as I was standing out in the tiny, freezing cold foyer greeting guests and numbering valuable little envelopes ;).

Warm, tasteful holiday decor inside the church. The candlelight, although mostly faux, imbued the space with such warmth.
I posted an aisle runner that I made this past weekend on my personal blog and a lot of brides asked about it, so I put together some basic instructions.
I got my actual runner from ebay because I had a hard time finding one that was long enough (125ft). It was a cotton ¢¢â€š¬…”printed lace¢¢â€š¬? pattern - very easy to paint on.
