Ya know, I’ve got to say there is nothing better than coming in to work at 8am the morning after Christmas. Wait- no. Mr. Kiwi getting to stay home and eat all of our holiday leftovers while I toil away at work is the best. Yeah, right. Anyway, hope everyone had a Happy Holidays!
It was great to see all our families, three full days of Christmas celebrations jam-packed with fun and love. One thing that was super awesome? Mr. Kiwi and I were gifted with some things off our registry! We got most of our barware and a few settings of our flatware (”Couture” from Crate and Barrel).

I’ve seen this question on many boards before, but I never seem to get a good answer.
There was a guest at our wedding who did not send us a gift. Not that we expected gifts from everyone, but this particular guest said that the “gifts are on the way” during the wedding. We have not received anything from this guest. I’ve called the registries and tried to find out if maybe this person sent something and we just never got it. But, it looks like we’ve received everything that was bought. So now I’m trying to figure out maybe this person went off-registry? Or maybe this person sent money?
How do I find out if this person sent something and it got lost, or if they accidentally forgot to send something?
What is the right etiquette? I will thank this person for coming to the wedding, but I would feel horrible if I didn’t thank them for a gift, if there was a gift purchased.
What do I do?

This is a welcoming Starbucks package for the out of town guests - hanging at the door waiting for them.. hee! ~ Paulina
Hello everyone! Hope you enjoyed your long weekend. Mr. Bee and I didn’t really do anything special - we worked and ate Chinese takeout. Yup we’re kinda boring.
I have lots to do to wrap up this year and plan for the next, so I’m going to take this week off from posting. The bees will be buzzing, but it will be lighter than usual this week as many people are off on holiday vacations. I will be online everyday, so please continue to send in your “wedding stuff on my pet contest entries,” open questions, etc. and they will be posted.
Only five more days to the new year! Can you believe how fast 2006 flew by? Hope you all have a great day! ![]()
I love photos and creating scrapbooks for myself, family, and friends. Apple offers these nifty IPhoto books. All you need to do is select a template, select your photos, upload them and you’re done! You can even include text, change your themes on every page, and crop and rotate photos.
Here are some fun themes you can choose from.

This year, I really feel like I lucked out in the presents department. I got a couple things I’ve really been wanting from Santa. We’re taking a 10 day trip to New York starting on the 27th — the first leg of the trip will be to visit Sister of Pearl in Syracuse. She just had a baby on December 12, so I’m excited to go get my first look at the baby!! I will also get to see my other nephew/godson, who I love and adore.
After a couple of days, Mr. Pearl and I will be heading into New York City and spending about a week there. We’ll be in town for New Year’s, the second time I’ve spent it in the Big Apple. It’s the first big vacation that Mr. Pearl and I have taken, so we’re both very excited and sure to make it a fabulous holiday.
I know it seems like that’s about all I should be getting for Christmas, but wait…it gets better!
The Knot has an engagement ring tool that lets you choose the stone, band, and side stones to build your dream ring. It’s easy to use and kinda fun!

I’ve broken my “no two posts with characters of the same color rule.”
Yes it truly hurt me. But as part of my New Year’s Resolutions, I’m going try to be less OCD and less of a perfectionist. I have lots of resolutions this year - do you?
Anyway, I was reading Designer’s Block (design blogs = my internet porn), and they featured London based baker Little Venice Cake Company. With creations as pretty as these, it’s no wonder clients like David Beckham, Madonna, and Pierce Brosnan are fans! Here are some cake inspirations to tantalize your sweet tooth:
My dad has had a passion for gardening his entire life, and his favorite plant to work with is the cactus. He’s created many grafted cactus arrangements in the past, and I recently realized that they’d make beautiful wedding centerpieces. Not only do they come in many vibrant colors and forms, but they’re affordable and accessible too. You can usually find these small cactus plants at your local Home Depot for around $2 each.
The cactus centerpiece is something that I would even attempt to diy, since you can take one type of cactus arranged in a couple of straight rows together, and it’d look great. Plus it’s almost impossible to kill a cactus.
Here are some cactus pictures for inspiration.
