About Mrs. Lily

Little Sparkles

January 2nd, 2007 @ 8:34 am by Mrs. Lily

My venue requires that I denote each person’s entree on their placecard. I am going to do this by gluing tiny Swarovski crystal on each card. I just bought them! They are from a website called Tami’s Place. These shiny bobbles are too gorgeous. Check out the ones I chose:

erinite crystal

black diamond crystal

silk crystal

Is your venue having you designate entrees? How are you doing it?

That’s a great idea!

I was thinking about using a different flower stamp on each

we were told we had to have colored tickets. I haven’t figured out how to do it and make it fun and cute, maybe a colored stripe on the placecard or something similar. I had a question though. On the response cards are you having a line to mark the number of each entree ordered? What if it’s a big family and you can’t figure out who wants what? I’m worried that there will be instances where I don’t know which entree to put on which placecard.

I’m sure there will be instances where I’m not sure which person wants which item… I figured I would call or e-mail in that case. A bit of a pain, but there didn’t seem to be anothe way to do it without making the response card super cluttered…

that is a really good idea… i’m going to keep that in mind!

otherwise, i was going to use stamps, maybe try to find some of the animal the guest chose to eat. heh. maybe that’s too graphic.

Other ideas I’ve seen:
**A sticker of a cow, chicken, fish, etc. A little quirky, maybe. :-)
**Different color ribbons adorning the top of the table/place card.
**Stickers of stars, but different colors on the table/place card.
**Different color table/place card. This is the most obvious, and apparently the caterers are gracious when it is more obvious (imagine carting around trays full of food and trying to determine if you’re looking at a pink star or red star). ;-)

maggie,

You could list each guests’ name and have them check a box cooresponding to their meal (or that they’re not attending). Having it set up in a table (first column: Guest Name, second column: beef, third column: fish, etc, last column: unable to attend) may make it less cluttered looking. Printing everybody’s name would probably be a lot of work though- so you might just want to leave enough blank lines in the “Name” column for the appropriate number of guests and have them write in their name or hand-write it yourself. Another option would be to leave enough space next to each meal choice and have each person “INITIAL” his/her selection.
