Still Cute!

January 2nd, 2007 @ 5:11 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

I finally went to order my bridesmaid’s flip flops for the reception today. I blogged about them back in October and was glad to find they were still on sale! :) I was planning to get either brown or pink shoes for each girl–but found the best of both worlds in these babies! I bought some crystals and some fun ribbon and I’m going to go to town decorating them when they come in.

I really like the mint colored ones as well. At $4.50 a pair, I splurged. They would be cute for maids in a Tiffany Blue themed wedding. You gotta have something to change into for the reception! :)

I’m with you on the flip flops! I am getting my girls black ones from Old Navy and am going to decorate them with a few red crystals. For myself, I decided to get a pair of Crocs flip flops in the pearl and red. My feet will be oh so comfy at the reception! :)

So cute. I went ahead and ordered the brown ones back when you blogged about it earlier. No regrets — but those pink/brown dots are adorable!

I guess I’m in the minority, but I don’t like rubber or plastic flip flops anywhere other than the pool and the beach. What’s wrong with flat or low-heeled shoes for women who aren’t comfortable in high heels? There are so many beautiful low-heeled sandals, ballet flats, and flat shoes out there–why not get a pair of those? There’s a gorgeous pair of Grace bridal slingbacks with a one inch heel, and a gorgeous pair of dyeable Blue Tux skimmers. It’s a formal occasion, not an occasion for beach or pool shoes, unless you are actually at the beach, of course. I’m going to wear a beautiful pair of shoes I can actually keep on for ten hours, and I expect my maids to do the same.

To each his own pencil! :) My ceremony is going to be classy and formal. My reception is going to be more fun. I’m not taking the chance of having my feet hurt for one second and miss out on having fun!!! :) My maids will appreciate not being stuck in formal shoes–that’s why they are my girls! :)

Now I have to go and find my bridesmaids’ foot size! I think these will be fun for them to wear while getting read and at the after party!!!

I have been to beautiful and formal weddings where the bride and BP changed into slippers or flips, and didn’t think twice.

There are gorgeous shoes out there, but a free pair of flips to ensure my comfort would be a welcomed gift! Not to mention with a long gown and/or long BM’s dresses, they wouldn’t even be noticed. :-)
