For a long time I was unsure where our actual ceremony venue was going to be – the church Mr. Kiwi works for or our reception venue. After a long drawn out discussion, we decided to stay at the venue. But being slightly anti-floral (when it comes to arrangements), I’m now left with how to decorate a tent.
As I posted in my Not So Secret Garden blog, I’ve always imagined topiaries or potted trees marking the altar. Since we’re not going to have an actual altar, I thought this was best to convey the actual “this is where we take our vows” sentiment. Another hurdle? I am sooo not wanting to spend hundreds of dollars on potted plants when we live in an apartment. Really, what can you do with an ivy topiary after the wedding?
While looking for ideas, I wound up at Costco and saw these:
Single ball ivy $ 39.99 and 22 inches tall
Double ball ivy, $249.99 for two. 46″ tall.
I’m about five feet tall, so should I get something taller or shorter? Weddingbee reader Adrienne commented that she’s using rosemary trees. I love rosemary and I love this idea. Anyone know where to find affordable potted rosemary?
