During the planning process I knew who my ring bearer was going to be: my puppy Teddy. I didn’t know how I was going to do it, but Teddy HAD to be there because he’s part of our family.
I did a lot of research and read tons of articles about how it’s not a good idea to have your pet at your wedding. He might bark constantly, pee on the aisle midway or eat flowers. I trained Teddy for the last several months leading up to the wedding, escorting him around like I was his handler in the Best in Show. He would trot down our long hallway like the purebred he’s not.
I wanted Teddy to match the wedding party, too. FI was adamant about Teddy not wearing a wreath of flowers around his neck because he’s a BOY. Fine , FIzilla, it’s your wedding too. It took me several months to find the perfect outfit for him: a tux! He looked so handsome!

No one knew that Teddy was going to be in the wedding, When our groomsmen escorted Teddy down the aisle, everyone was standing up and trying to “paw” their way to the aisle to get a closer look at the ring bearer. He was the talk of the entire evening!

Teddy wasn’t allowed inside the hotel where our reception was held, but I still wanted to incorporate him, so he greeted every table with a number.
