Marital Happiness Flowers

January 9th, 2007 @ 9:29 am by Mrs. Peach

Okay, so I’m not really a big flower person so I was kind of whatevers about flowers for my wedding. I figured I’d just get something that looks nice but inexpensive. That is until I came across these:

Marital Happiness Flowers : wedding flowers Z706564 bride bouquet

Stephanotis!! I think they are so beautiful and these flowers are a symbol of marital happiness. How perfect! ^_^ But they are mad expensive. >_< Luckily, I found someone whose willing to do my flowers at an amazing price. (I will post more about this later once we finalize a contract.) My bouquet will be similar to the one above but with pearl pins in the middle of each bloom.

My bridesmaids bouquet will look something like this, but much smaller and all the roses will be a coral color rose:

Mr. Peach’s bout:

GMs bout to match the BMs bouquet:

Yay for marital happiness and beautiful flowers!

We’re using stephanotis too! My bridal bouquet will be made up of hydrangeas, peonies, and stephanotis, and the groomsmen will have a similar stephanotis bout like the one you pictured above.

Great pick!

The bouquet you posted is very pretty..it’s not like Jessica Simpson’s ugly dome stephanotis bouquet.

Just a word of caution - when I met with my florist on Saturday she said that the stephanotis are really hard to keep white and alive… apparently they’re not good because they wither easily. One wedding I was at, the florist spray-painted the flower white. Just a small word of caution!! But they do look GORGEOUS!

Stephanotis is beautiful. Your bouquet with the pearls will be gorgeous, and your bridesmaid’s bouquets will also be gorgeous! I love peach roses. Very traditional and beautiful. I hate the word “classy” but it fits. The only thing I would suggest is maybe adding a white or ivory rose to your groom’s bout–you don’t want his bout to look “less” or smaller than the groomsmans’. A small bud, or maybe a couple of white or ivory spray roses. He’s the groom, after all. Although your bouquet will only be stephanotis, they will still match via the color.

OMG I LOVE Stephanotis! I’ve loved them ever since the prom days when girls would put them in their hair. (I, sadly, never got the chance to because it was costly.) Are stephanotis more expensive than roses? I actually like your BM’s bouquets more than the all stephanotis bouquet just because it brings a little more color and I always thought of stephanotis as a filler flower (like baby’s breath). Buuuut they are all still beautiful nonetheless. Love the groom’s bout too!

thanks for everyone’s comments/suggestions!

L - when i asked around, stephanotis were always more expensive than roses. part of the reaoson is that they are so delicate.

stephanotis are beautiful but . . . my best friend used that exact bouquet on her wedding day and they did turn brown. since it is time-consuming to make this particular bouquet with the pearls and wires, the florist made it the night before. it was stored in a refrigerator overnight and looked just okay when it was delivered in the morning, but by early afternoon the wilting and browned edges were real noticeable. her groom had a matching stephanotis bout and it was crushed early in the day from everyone hugging him. it was a good thing she ordered a backup one. hope this helps!

You have to be careful with stephanotis, though. They are so soft looking that everyone seems to want to touch them and they certainly won’t hold up to the abuse. They are almost as bad as gardenias in that way. Very delicate. Still, they are quite beautiful. They make for a nice contrast when you work them in with roses, like your bridesmaids bouquets.

I’m with a great florist in Kansas City. We work exclusively with brides and we do a lot with stephanotis. I hope that yours turn out beautifully. Good luck.
