We Are Sooo Tricky :)

We have been in the process of finalizing our song list for the band the last couple of days. Being a super organized OCD freak, I have made a speadsheet to keep the song list neat and highlighted with our favorite songs in yellow, and songs we love in green. I also made notes about songs we definitely do not want to hear (chicken dance and the hokey pokey), if a song should go out to a certain someone, and if a song is being used for a special part of the ceremony (bouquet toss, entrance song, etc).

So the tricky part of it all is that we will be having an Anniversary Dance, where the band will prompt all the married couples onto the dance floor and slowly weed them out until the couple who has been married the longest are the only ones remaining. We have done the math and realized that the longest married couple will be my grandparents, so the band will be playing their favorite song (The Wonder of You by Elvis) for the Anniversary Dance/Game.

I know - super cute!

I would love to do that, but I only have one grandma left and there are a lot (and I mean a LOT) of divorces on the groom’s side… so I worry that it will be sad, depressing, insulting… and that the last couple dancing will be my parents at like, 32 years. Which isn’t a lot, relatively. Oh well.
