In my post about doing my own makeup, I mentioned my love for Carmindy’s work and lamented the fact that I couldn’t hire her for the wedding. But while Stumbling today, I came across the next best thing!
Very useful for any of us who are doing our own wedding makeup

I have been pondering rather hard on hiring a make up artist vs. Doing my own make up.
So far I have been doing my own make up and with consistent trial and error I know it will come very beautifully on my wedding day.

ack! I tried to post this for Miss Lily’s post on the battery operated lanterns, but for some reason, all of the comment links send me to the photo host!

My brother and his wife used battery powered lanterns at their outdoor wedding and while beautiful, I have one recommendation: buy lithium extended life batteries and don’t turn them on until it starts getting dark. The lanterns were set up at around 5 pm (before the ceremony) and by the time dinner started (at around 7pm), many of the lanterns were already dying out.
I believe they bought lithium batteries, but just simply set up the lanterns too early. By the time it did actually get dark, very few, if any, of the lanterns were still going!
Maybe you can give it a trial run when they come in the mail to see how long they last with certain batteries.

but alas, i don’t think i’ll be able to pull off my own wedding makeup the day of..
and i think i’ll be able to have some r&r as the makeup artist and hair stylist work their magic on me
