Flirty Fun Wedding Dress

January 15th, 2007 @ 11:15 am by Mrs. Bluebell

I just saw this on Nordstrom and thought WOW! How cute it would be for a relatively informal day wedding? So spunky but still elegant and bridal! Just wanted to share in case anyone was looking for something like this.

Flirty Fun Wedding Dress : wedding new york wedding dress 5314411 _531441

$568, by Carmen Marc Valvo, located here.

I was considering something like this for my actual dress, but ended up going more traditional in the end. Is anyone else going short and/or untraditional?

Yes! I am having an afternoon non-church wedding and wanted to do something more fun, less traditional, yet still bridal. Our ceremony is going to be downtown in an art gallery and our reception in a jazz club four blocks away. We are planning on walking with our wedding party from the gallery to the reception, so I knew a train was out of the question. I ended up finding the perfect dress at BCBG. It is a strapless a-line that ends just below my knee. It is off-white and has layers of pintucking on the bodice and small ruffles on the skirt. My favorite part is the row of tiny white feathers that is along the hem of the dress! I bought it last February, but I was just in BCBG last week and saw it there. It’s not even on sale yet! Oh yeah, it’s only $400. More than i have ever paid for a dress, but such a good deal for a wedding dress!!!

Ok, I know she’s got her legs crossed, but it looks like she’s only on one leg, kinda creeped me out. Cute dress though! Mine’s much more formal - nightime reception at formal ballroom. But really cute idea!

I’m going very un-traditional - ceremony at the courthouse and reception at a park on the beach - and my dress is actually a bridesmaids dress in white.

I noticed her one-leggedness as well. Kind of odd. I *should* have gone untraditional, but I just couldn’t make myself. I love the train and the volume! I’m doing a beach wedding, so let’s just hope that I don’t bring to muich beach home with me after dragging my dress in the sand.

I’m probably going with either a dark blue or a dark red dress. :) That’s kinda untraditional. Hehe.

Another fun idea would be to wear something fun like this to the rehearsal. My wedding dress was a big ballgown, but I really wanted to wear something somewhat bridal and fun to our rehearsal, so I wore a short, cream vintagey dress.

When we were talking a winter elopement, I found a St. John Knits suit in winter white with some sparkle and that high Princess Diana collar. It was a great sale, but I also ended up going traditional. Anyway, the evening suits at St. John can’t be overlooked. St. John is having a huge sale through today. St. John suits also are classic, tasteful, and nice quality for the “traveling outfit” to depart a winter wedding.

Haha I’m a bit like twelvetigers - wondering if maybe I shouldn’t have just gone simpler! I can’t get over how much I love this look! (Hehe although my version would hopefully be two-legged!!) So I am envying all you untraditional girls a bit!! Your dresses all sound like so much fun!

And Jen - wearing this as a rehearsal dress was in fact my first thought…before I saw the price! But seeing as my wedding is going to be casual and my rehearsal WAY more casual I didn’t think I could justify it. But I hope someone else buys it!! :-)

Ooooooh that’s a mighty cute dress! I would consider wearing something like it… especially if I have a more casual wedding… but Miss Bluebell, I love YOUR dress, it’s so elegant!!!!!

I’m wearing [=http://watters.com/product.php?coll=brides&showid=29]this Watters dress[/url]. I had pictured wearing a short dress for quite a while and I feel fabulous in it.

I bought it from White House | Black Market. They aren’t selling it any longer, but here’s a pic. I loved it!!
