About Open Question

Hello Mrs. Bee & Weddingbee fans,

I’m getting married in July 2007, and I’d like to do something different for our wedding. I’d like to steer away from the usual numerical table assignments and have guests sit at “named” tables.

Originally, I thought maybe we could name places that my fiance and I have gone to or favorite dishes or restaurants. However it was difficult to think of 30 different words or phrases.

Now I’m considering using the word “LOVE” or phrase “MY LOVE” translated into 29 different languages; our sweetheart table for example would be “MAHAL,” incorporating our Filipino roots.

I’ve been searching all over the internet but have not come up with enough languages. Maybe the fellow weddingbees can help?

Thank You,
Maricris

If you’re deciding to print how the words would sound in english, it would also be cute to put how the word is written in the original language.
For example, in Korean, “love” is “sarang.” Then underneath you could use Korean characters, and so on.

i agree with laura about printing the real characters of the language on the tablecards as well.

I love this idea…
Here are a few I’d use German, Japanese, Hawaiian, Swahilli (SP?), Elvish (from Lord of the Rings), Native American, Indian (I have no idea what its called…sorry).
You could even use slang if you’re that type of couple.
I think it would be fun to go around and try to pronounce all the different ways to say love.
Nice idea…
I was thinking of using constellations, bands, songs, or comedians.

You could go with dead languages - sanskrit, latin, etc.

My fiance suggests Klingon (sp?) - but feel free to ignore him.
