Obsessed Much?

[Wedding video edition]

Okay, don’t laugh at me (actually, it’s ok if you do laugh silly03), but I already have many of the songs for our wedding video picked out in my head - I call it “Our Wedding Soundtrack.”

I kind of have an idea of the way I want my wedding video to look. I told my videographer that I love the way 16mm/8mm film looks, so I think I want that for my highlight reel, but I like the crispness of HD in color, so I think I want that for the ceremony portion. But then again, it would look so romantic for the ceremony to be in sepia in that old-timey 16mm look. Oh, decisions, decisions…

As for the “wedding soundtrack” to the video, I was very inspired by Susie’s wedding highlight video to Yellowcard and decided that I definitely did not want your typical Frank Sinatra / Celine Dion soundtrack to my wedding video.

I’m fairly open to suggestions, but I really like the following songs (I’m not much of a sappy love ballad type person). I like more of an alternative or oldies approach (I know, weird combination):

Meaning - Gavin DeGraw (I’m going to use this for my highlight reel)

The Sweetest Thing - U2 (Preparations)

Fix You - Coldplay (No idea where this fits, but I like the song haha)

Crazy Love - Aaron Neville (First Dance)

Somewhere Only We Know - Keane (End of video)

I know some of these aren’t even “romantic” songs, but hey, I like ‘em. silly03

I am a fan of “So Happy Together” and I know someone who used Rob Stewart’s “Forever Young” for one of the growing up montages. :-) Looks really good!

And hey, if we didn’t think of this stuff years in advance the Knot, WeddingBee, etc. wouldn’t be in business and we wouldn’t be brides! ;-)
