About Mrs. Bluebell

Checklist Time!

January 18th, 2007 @ 12:28 pm by Mrs. Bluebell

So on Monday I had MLK Jr Day off but Mr. Bluebell didn’t. Meaning if I’m going to be trapped in the apartment with someone who’s “working” I guess I should be productive too. Does that mean catch up on my job work? Of course not! It means wedding planning!!

DONE PREVIOUSLY:
- bought wedding dress
- bought wedding shoes
- reserved ceremony & reception venue
- booked caterer
- booked photographer
- sent out save the dates

DID ON MONDAY:
- bought veil (eeee!)
- made appointment re: invitations (next Monday! YAY!)
- contacted “someone” (long random story) to get a great florist reference
- talked my mom into getting the local opinions on hairstylists in the area
- picked our officiant! (fingers crossed - it’s a relative who doesn’t know we want her to do it yet…but my mom seemed to think she’d want to. And now we at least know who we want to ask!)
- called caterer to set up site visit (whoops, he returned my call but I haven’t called back yet)
- contacted our first choice honeymoon destination (I’ll do a whole post on them later) and got quotes and confirmed availability!!!

Woohooooooo things are getting done!!! :-D

Big ones left on the list:
- figure out the actual tent & table placement (oh this one is going to be hard)
- choose invitations and order them
- actually book a florist (pleeeeeeease let our recommendation work out!!)
- talk to my relative to see if she’ll really be our officiant
- book honeymoon!
- figure out where to get my hair & makeup done in the middle of nowhere
- buy Mr. Bluebell’s wedding ring
- choose menu!

I’m sure I’m forgetting some other big items since every time I look at my Master Wedding To Do List I flip out, but as of right this second it’s seeming sort of manageable!! Maybe we’ll actually be able to pull this wedding thing off after all! :-D

Wow!!! Good for you, Miss Bluebell! Ugh, officiant… that’s right. We’ll need one of those!

Congrats on being so proactive! I hope things work out right! (fingers crossed on the florist!)

Don’t forget transportation… my FSIL went to a wedding where the bride and groom forgot to book transportation from the reception to the hotel … lucky for them my FSIL has a good sized car and just cleaned it!
