Spilling The Beans

January 18th, 2007 @ 3:53 pm by Mrs. Orange

Whether you’re at work or with your family or friends, everyone seems to ask “how the wedding plans are coming.” I can go on and on about our wedding, but I learned that Mr. Orange doesn’t want me to talk about it - especially to our guests - so the element of surprise will be there.

What are you and your FI keeping to yourself about the wedding? Mr. Orange doesn’t want anyone (including Bee readers) to see the wedding rings until after the wedding. Boohoo. But, stay tuned :-D

I wish I was as good at keeping secrets…

Mr. Kiwi at first wanted us to keep our ceremony site a secret- only because he works at a church, and we’re not getting married there. As he grew further disallusioned about the father there, we began telling everyone. Other than that, we’re an open book. He’s not much for secrets.

if they’re married, “(nonchalant)Oh you know how it goes…. so many choices!”

if they’re not married, “it’s going well. a lot of choices. haven’t really narrowed the field.”

That way you’re not going into details and you can still say things like, “so many different blues or there’s a lot of good photographers out there.”

I always thought they were asking just to be polite! I answer along the lines of Tristan’s posting above…. and then pause in case they are volunteering to help or are changing the subject. : )

I have three girlfriends getting married before me, although I have been engaged the longest. Plus, my mom is a wedding coordinator and is great with coming to me with fabulous, new ideas. So I have had to keep my mouth shut about a lot of the details, because I know if I squeal, the same elements will be at their weddings in the months prior to ours!

No one knows our song (except us and the band), he doesnt’ know my dress, and that’s about it.

I tell my co-workers a lot, but our guest list is tight and we’ve decided not to invite any co-workers unless we reguarly hang out with them outside of work. So I blab to them so I can keep my mouth shut to everyone else.

Our ceremony and reception are at different places and my FI is arranging a unique form of transportation between the two (hint: they’re both on the water)- that will be a surprise to everyone but his parents- who were with us when we came up with the idea.

We’re not really big for secrets. But we probably won’t be blabbing everything to everyone. I’ll have my blog, of course, but that’s protected, so if I don’t want guests to know about something, I won’t let them read it! Ha.
