Cool Cakes

January 19th, 2007 @ 2:01 pm by Mrs. Lily

I’m trying to do some research on groom’s cakes (shhhhh… advice anyone???) and keep getting side-tracked by phenomenal wedding cakes. Check these out from Colette’s Cakes in NYC:

These aren’t groom’s cakes, but they sure are g-o-r-g-e-o-u-s! If you have good Web sites for me to check out for groom’s cakes, do share!

Sorry, I haven’t really done any research on grooms cakes, but I wanted to say how much I LOVE Collete’s work! I am a Food Network junkie and have seen her on many shows; she seems like such a fun lady and her cakes all look phenomenal!

Our groom’s cake was based on the “Alex” in the “Not-so-traditional” section of this company’s website:http://www.charmcitycakes.com/noflash/
Here’s a better picture of the Charm City Cake: http://www.flickr.com/photos/velvetfriction/134173045/

Go to Charm City Cakes. They’re based out of Baltimore, but he is great! Check out the gallery, they have traditional (wedding), fun (a bit of everything) and something like crazy (lots of groom cakes in there). My FI’s favorite is the Fist of Rock II cake - it really is pretty incredible. When are you planning on giving it to him? Rehearsal dinner or actual wedding? My FI hates cake (I know, a travesty, but it means more for me and I get to choose the flavors for the weddinge cake myself). I mean, he’ll eat it - but he’s pretty eh about it. He does like tiramisu and ice cream cake though, so I’m thinking along those lines. . .
