My Invitations! Finally!

January 20th, 2007 @ 3:15 pm by Mrs. Peach

Wow, looking back on my past entries, I realized the last time I griped about my invites was back in November. Two months later, I finally have them done and sent. Praise the Lord! ^_^

To save some money, I bought my own paper and used my own printer to print the text. It was a bit crazy because I went to three different AC Moore’s to find the right colored paper and basically cleaned out their stock. In the end there was still not enough of the right color green so I decided, what the heck, I’ll just have two different invite colors. haha.

Before I reveal them to you, I must give shoutouts to four people.

1. Mr. Peach’s friend, Sandy (Yaniuan), who designed them! She was was super great to work with. I totally recommend her! If you like her work and want her to design your invites, you can find her info here: http://www.yaniuan.com/

2. Sandy’s friend, Michelle, who hand screen printed each one of them! Her website: www.lucknikdesign.com. I can’t believe she did each one by hand, they turned out absolutely lovely.

3. Mr. Peach, for staying up late to help me finish putting on the ribbons.

4. Thanks to a weddingbee reader, Michelle, who commented on my past entry about my invites and inspired me to pursuse a Magnolia theme for the flowers!

Finally, here ya go:

Don’t mind the blurred out parts:

Does this look familiar? Sandy worked with us to make our invitations have a personalized feel to them. Taken from one of our engagment pictures:

Sandy couldn’t find a magnolia print so she created the design by drawing them herself! The inside:

In the colors that are closer to my wedding color theme:

Finally, I must add, all of this was done at an AMAZING price. ^_^ I’m sooooo happy because I know if I were to get invitations like this anywhere else, I wouldn’t have been able to afford it. Seriously at my budget, I was about to go for very simple white with writing, no designs. There’s nothing wrong with super simple invites, but I wanted color and a personal touch. So yay for getting what I wanted while staying under budget. WoOt wOoT!

Your invites turned out so well! I love how customized they look! Did you include an rsvp and a map card? If so were they placed in the invite or behind it? I am thinking about a similat layout and wanted to know how you put it together.

hi molly-
We just had a very simple white paper, folded in half with RSVP info (we did this via on-line) and maps and other info such as link to wedding website. we slipped it inside the invitation. ours was not very formal… ^_^
