Marshmallow Hearts

January 21st, 2007 @ 5:01 pm by Mrs. Bee

Heart shaped marshmallows from Martha Stewart Livings, February 2007.

Marshmallow Hearts : wedding beverages food Marshmallow marshmallow.jpg

This is a sweet little detail if you’re serving hot chocolate at your wedding, bridal shower, or engagement party. To make them, cut marshallows in half horizontally, and press a heart shaped cutter into each one. Too cute!

Marshmallows are made from gelatin which comes from animal by products like hooves and cartilage. Nice thought huh?

Isabelle – not all marshmallows, just check the package if you’re concerned. Try whole foods or your local organic market

Anyone have a recipie for the non-gelatin marshmallows? I know that you can get them for vegans and those keeping halal but I like them better when I make my own.
