Weddingbee T-Shirts

January 21st, 2007 @ 6:06 pm by Mrs. Bee

Hi everyone! Hope you’re having a great weekend! :-)

We’ve been working on the weddingbee t-shirt design, and would like your feedback so we can print something that you really like. First of all, we have to decide which bee to use.

Which bee do you like best?

We’re going to have the bee icon on the front of the shirt, but we’re trying to decide whether to have the weddingbee logo on the back, or on the front with the bee like this:

Where should we put the weddingbee logo?

How big do you think we should make the bee? The one right above is just under 3″ x 3.” Do you like the size? If not, please let us know how much bigger or smaller you’d like it.

How big should we make the bee?

And finally we’re having some t-shirts printed with just the weddingbee logo on the front. Do you like a green t-shirt with a white logo, or a white t-shirt with a green logo?

Which design do you like better?

We’ll be giving a bunch of the weddingbee logo shirts away at the 1 year anniversary party, so be sure to attend! ;)

We take all your suggestions into account, so we really appreciate your feedback!

Now that you mention it…from a graphic designer’s point of view, I never really liked how the letters in the Weddingbee logo look so rough around the edges - is this intentional? It almost looks like it’s a badly pixelated image. And if you’re planning on printing it on a t-shirt, I don’t think it’ll turn out too well the way it is (it’ll look fuzzy and a bit unfinished from far away). Let me know if you agree with me - I’ll fix it for free…but only because I love this site so much! :-)

maybe you should add the “.com” to the end of logo so more ppl can find thier way to the site.

Ahhhh. Bee could you do half green and half white shirts? I’m a big fan of colored shirts. It just seems more expensive. haha;)

I love the white on green ones, and I totally want one! Does this mean the non-NY bees won’t get a shirt?:( Waaaaaaaah!

we’ll be giving a bunch of the weddingbee logo tshirts away, but i don’t think we’ll be selling any that day. if you come early enough, i’m sure you’ll be able to get a shirt!

will you be selling them after for those that won’t be able to make the party? also, i think a shirt with the little bee in the front where most tshirts have a little pocket with the big bee and the logo on the back would be really really adorable! are these going to be fitted tees?

any reason for not using the exact bee icon used in the posts?

ah i just rotate the bees used in posts for fun. But yes there is a reason for using the green - it matches the logo and the weddingbee site. :)

Is the party going to be in NYC?

If you do the green shirts, you might want to mess with the color of the bee’s wings. I’m thinking the green wings won’t show up well on a green shirt.

I agree with adding the “.com” at the end of weddingbee, so people will think to look it up! Otherwise they may not know…

i love the idea of a green shirt. i think you could get around the problem of the green bee’s wings by superimposing the bee image on something like a white circle on the green shirt.

i also agree with #2 about how the weddingbee letters look a bit pixellated. to me, they don’t quite fit in with the smooth, calm design of the rest of the weddingbee site, and the wide spacing of the “I” and “N” is a bit of a visual “bump.” it’s not at all a big problem, though, but i think i just notice it because i absolutely love the rest of the graphics on your site! your illustrators do a wonderful job.

the green tshirts would not have the bee, and only the logo. also when we print it, it shoud look less pixelated. That look was intentional. :)

i like tshirts w/ logos on the right shoulder blade. i think it looks refreshing in unconventional places right shouder blade, lower left/right corner as opposed to right smack in the front center.
