Miss Peach, New Jersey/Atlanta Age and Occupation in 07: 25, Mechanical Engineer Fiance's Age and Occupation: 24, Student Engagement Date: January 27, 2006 Wedding Date: March, 2007 Venue: Korean Presbyterian Church of Atlanta + Flint Hill About Me: Mr. Peach and I started dating our senior year of high school when we both lived in Georgia. Since then, we spent 6 years in a long distance relationship. And now by the grace of God, we've made it through; we are living in the same state again (NJ) and we are gettin' married! I was originally going to ask if I could be Miss Mango bc I loveee mangos sooo much, but in the end decided to be true to my GA peach roots! woot!
About Mrs. Peach

Okay, I was just looking through some Q&A on the knot, and came across a question asking how to send an invitation to the White House.

How funny is that! Hahaha. They send you a pre-printed card with signatures from the Prez and the First Lady. Kinda interesting, eh? Maybe if I have extra invitations left over, I’ll do it. Just for the heck of it. shy01 Like they say, it could make a “wonderful keepsake.”

Whatdya think? Would you do it?

I actually did it as a surprise for my husband as he is really into politics in general. It was great because I was able to give him the mail one night with an envelope from the White House. Yes, it’s sort of cheesy and canned but it was still fun and he thought it was really cool.

I’ve heard you can also do this with the pope and the Queen of England and a few other people like that! Not sure if I’d actually do one, but it is kinda funny. :-)

This reminds me of sending (small) gifts to famous people after looking up their registry.

Some radio host was talking about how he sent something to Star Jones just to get a thank you note from her. Silly!

I invited the queen to an event once (when i was 20) and received a letter of apology.
I just wish i had kept it.

I think we’ll do it if we have extra invites. My nephew was recently born and as a surprise, I requested a birth greeting from the white house. My sister & her husband thought it was really cute.

Not only do I not want the president at our wedding, I don’t even want his stupid signature!
Sorry to all the Bush supporters who read this.

When Obama is president, I will invite him to my birthday party, Oscar party, housewarming party…unfortunately, I will already be married by then so a wedding invite will be out.

Not to get political, but I wouldn’t want the current President at my wedding, nor his smug wife or drunken daughters. Although if they wanted to send me a gift from the registry, that would be fine.

We invited Bill and Hillary and got a card back from their office. They didn’t officially RSVP, though, so maybe I will see them on Saturday ;-)

I will definatly do that, not that I want our current pres there, but… it would be funny to say “That guy didn’t even have the curtosey to RSVP!” LOL
I also plan to send an invitation to Bon Jovi… They were our first official date… I don’t expect them to send autographs or anything, I just think it’s neat to say “I invited Bon Jovi” :-)

That’s it, we’re inviting Steve Jobs!

Maybe he’ll add a registry to The Apple Store if he finds he can’t come.

:D

JOY - how do you invite the Clintons? I have been wanting to do that research but haven’t gotten around to it.

I am a scrapbooker so I think this idea is great no matter who it is you’re inviting that most likely won’t show. :-)

Haha. I don’t want Bush’s signature either, even if it’s just some poorly-paid office worker forging his signature. I’d die for Oprah’s signature though!

I don’t want the president thinking he’s cool enough to get invited to our wedding!

We’re inviting Donald and Melania Trump. My FI’s last name is Trump (trust me, no relation) and we figure maybe he’ll see the name, figure he’s a long lost second cousin, pass the invitation to his assistant and tell her to send a little something like a $1000 check. :)

The way they do the signatures for this thing are the crazy machines that actually mimic the prez’s signature with a pen making the marks. He does it once and the machine memorizes the movements and can recreate them a million times. I want one of those! Only I want it to say “Thank you so much for the lovely gift. It was such a thoughtful gesture! Love, thistleorchid”

The engagement announcement in my small hometown area triggered a local politician to send a note of congrats to my parents (listed in the paper as “parents of the bride). Add to the scrapbook…
