About Mrs. Orchid

In April, my FI and I are going to head to Thailand for a vacation, as well as to get some things for the wedding done.

1) I will have my Thai cultural dresses as well as my FI’s suits tailor-made there.

2) I will be printing my invitations there.

3) I will be picking out my favors from there.

4) I will having an outdoor engagement type photoshoot there.

I’ve already contacted an excellent freelance photographer in Bangkok, and placed a deposit. So here’s the fun part - choosing the location! From the start I knew I had to take pictures on the beach. The sand, the surf, the beautiful scenery. I began researching different places from expensive resorts, to private secluded beach villas. In the end the villas won me over. Even though the resorts are very modern looking and trendy, I knew the beach would be swamped with tourists and visitors. The last thing I want in my pictures is to see swarms of people in bikinis and speedos, that really shouldn’t be in them. Haha!

So I’ve narrowed it down to 2 villas located on a private beach. Each of these have their own private swimming pool/jacuzzi, which would be great places to take pictures as well.

I’m leaning towards A. Which would you choose? Both of these villas have access to the beach with this scenery:

I love them both, but my gut says A too… looks beauitful!! I wish we could afford the time off from work to do a preminimoon in Costa Rica!! Then we could do tastings and favors and photo shoots! Alas, we’re saving the time off for the wedding and honeymoon - not to mention the wedding. Looks gorgeous, can’t wait to see the results!

choke dee ka! my mom brought my invitations, envelopes, and favors back from thailand and there were so many spelling errors. “thounsand” in the invitations (currently being re-printed), “thank youe” on the favor tags, and one # missing from my zip code in the response envelopes. they had paper and electronic copies of all the text too. thai ppl are pretty careless with english spelling, so make sure you proof like crazy.

How did you go about finding a freelance photographer? I will be going to Germany, London, Barcelona and Paris in May. I would love to take professional pictures in Paris or Barcelona. Do you have any recommendations on finding a good photographer? This question goes out to the weddingbee community… Can someone recommend a photographer in Barcelona or Paris?

I love B. I think that staircase would be amazing for photos. Plus, I like the way the pool is adjacent to the house. It’s like you can walk right into it.

I’d save money on the villa and spend it on the ticket. I just don’t liked cramped seats, and your dollar still goes farther there than with the airline. I’m totally looking forward to seeing what you talor up. Getting jackets made was probably the highlight of my trip to Thailand weird as it may sound. The taylor thought I was funny cause I wanted Thai style clothes when everyone from the west just wanted the plain old stuff.
