About Mrs. Lime

Finally, Some Progress!

January 23rd, 2007 @ 8:31 am by Mrs. Lime

To prove how much of a procrasti-tater I am, this is what I’ve done since booking my venue in October:
1. Hired a month-of coordinator.
Yes, that’s all.
[If you don't count the shameful number of hours I've spent "researching" online and poring through wedding porn. It's time to stop and commit, I say!]

This past week, I am proud to say I accomplished the following. Yeah yeah yeah, so some of them are just steps in the right direction without concrete results yet…it’s OK, the list makes me feel like I’ve made progress.

1. Got a few videographer quotes.
2. Got a few makeup & hair quotes.
3. Figured out where we’ll be living and how soon we’ll move (this is a big issue as we live and work about 50 miles apart right now, both off of the worst freeway possible, and SoCal traffic is no joke).
4. Went to tastings with two different caterers. One is the clear winner so far, but we have one left next weekend. We’ll also have to see how their revised quotes come back. Meh, that money thing.

5. Picked out very casual “china” (I think it’s really stoneware) for the registry, but I didn’t note the correct color in the crappy lighting in the fancy schmancy Macy’s Home store, so it’s back to Macy’s I go as the colors look vastly different on the web, for some reason.
6. Added things Mr. Lime doesn’t think we need to the registry.
7. Watched all four hours of the 24 premiere. Trust me, this is somewhat wedding related.
8. Went to our pre-marital class and had good “emotionally intelligent” conversations as a result.
9. Did my part of our couples’ 16 PF test while sitting in a freezing cold server room.
10. Bough the new(ish) Grace Ormonde’s Wedding Style.
11. Went to PaperSource twice in two days to pick up some supplies and inspiration for my DIY invites. See my pretties???

12. Played with my pretties to discover the following:

Congratulations, Miss Lime! That is good progress. It gets more fun when you get to go to tastings, in my opinion. Cake tastings were the best… Some bakeries would just give us a whole, tiny cake; others let us taste 6 kinds of cake and bring the whole family. Enjoy!

Are you hammering the eyelet setters? That used to make me crazy, the constant noise of banging. If it bugs you too Provo Craft as a Silent Setter and I just love it. I would make sure it works with your eyelets because it’s all about arm strength (not a lot) with the Silent Setter. I am a HUGE fan of the Silent Setter.

I just LOVE your colors.

Wow, Miss Lime, your DIY invites are similar to my DIY Christmas cards this year. I used Paper Source’s “pool” and red papers. Had “pool” cards with red extras in red envelopes, with a lot of glittery snowflakes done with stamping and embossing powder. I’m sure your invites will come out looking great. I was going to DIY mine using the “butter” colored cardstock, but then I found White Aisle uses the same cardstock in the Luxe invites so I’m ordering theirs. After the huge project that was doing my STDs (with Paper Source’s “butter” scalloped cards and envelopes), I’m ready to let someone else do the invites. That way they’ll actually get done on time and will look perfect.

Why is my favorite part always the Photoshop commentary? ;)

And, of course, 24 is wedding-related.
