It’s been a little over a month since I got married, and I’m long overdue in my updates. I apologize. I know there are some itching to hear about my vendor reviews.
Rockleigh Country Club- What can’t I say about this venue? The place was absolutely and beyond perfect. The staff were very professional and attentive. Although I didn’t get to see for myself how the cocktail hour turned out, I got an enormous amount of feedback on how great in amount, quality and taste the food was. Mr. Snail and I actually got to enjoy a good 15 minutes of food and service that was brought up to our private bridal suite until the family called us for pictures. A+
Kim Jin Hong Studios- Our day would not have been complete without this man and his crew. They did both the photography and videography. I have yet to see the touched up professional pictures and wedding dvd, but from how our wedding posters and proofs came out, I know we’ll have beautiful pictures to cherish for a lifetime. We got back over a 1000+ pictures taken from the wedding. A+
Il Mare (floral design)- The designers were friendly and did an amazing job on my bouquet and the bm’s bouquets. They turned out to be more beautiful than I had originally imagined. As for the centerpieces, I feel that they could’ve had more orchid petals spread around the tables, and had 12 votives around the centerpiece rather than the 6-7 votives they ended up doing. I know I wasn’t the most helpful bride when it came to suggesting what I really wanted for the wedding. I knew how I wanted the bouquets, and I got more than I hoped for with that. When it comes to rating them, I will take off a little for skimping out on some of the votives, and the color of the tapered candles (we were set on white not pink). Lesson learned: Know exactly what you have in mind and want. A-
007 Entertainment- My Korean DJ/MC. The ceremony music was perfect. They did forget to play the song I originally chose for the cake cutting, but I have fault in that too. When you are hand in a cd compilation of what you want to be played at your wedding, DO NOT FORGET to number and name the songs. I just listed the names of the songs because I was up late the night before the wedding getting everything together one last time. There was an entire cd of songs I burned but never heard. I also wish they hadn’t dragged on the “party” train for so long, because it cut into my song Sexy Back. Other than that, they did a great job and I think everyone else enjoyed their drunken time on the dance floor. A-
My makeup artist, Evelyn Abanto. She is one of my closest coworkers at MAC. She did a fabulous job on my makeup. A grade cannot possible describe how she made me feel and look the day of the wedding. The makeup meant a lot to me. I battled with myself back and forth, whether I should do my own makeup. Being an artist myself, I felt I knew my face and therefore could do it better on my own. She did such a beautiful job not just on mine, but on the bridesmaids and my mom as well. I thank her for all that she did and for being there at the wedding.
