Just a reminder that if you and your SO are going out to dinner on Valentine’s Day, you should get on making your reservations, as they are quickly booking up everywhere! Mr. Raspberry and I have several friends in the industry, and we were talking to them about it yesterday. They said most of the great restaurants in DC are totally booked already…
Speaking of V-Day, what are you and your SO doing for each other?
Mr. Raspberry will be out in Colorado for some training for his new job, so I will be here in DC all by my lonesomeness! We decided that we are going to go easy on the celebrating this year anyways since we are trying to save all of our extra money for the wedding.
I thought I would bake him some great treats and he loves my baked goods. Stay tuned for a post with recipes and sweet things to do for your SO for V-Day!

i didnt know you were located in DC!! I was hoping that weddingbee would get a blogger from DC..but didn’t notice before… my fiance and i live in centreville..and we were just go out to a simple dinner.. nothing extravagant. we are having a $50 spending limit on v-day because we are saving for our wedding in october too…sorry Mr. Raspberry is going to be outta town.. im sure he will be thinking about you. ^_^
we never do much for Vday because our anniversary is only 6 days later. we do sometimes go out for dinner on a whim, or he gets me flowers, but it’s never anything expected.
We dont’t do much because our meet-anniversary is two days before and our engagement-anniversary is few weeks before. And restaurants tend to have set-menu and outrageous prices — I am planning a romantic dinner for two at home
DH’s birthday is thursday, then my birthday is 10 days later, and Valentine’s Day is 9 days after that, so we usually go light on Valentine’s Day. This year we are going to have my best friend & her husband over for dinner the Saturday before. I’m excited because she and I both love to cook, but I haven’t made anything for them before. I’m making pepper-crusted filet mignon, roasted zucchini w/ thyme, and buttermilk mashed potatoes. Fro dessert we’ll have molten mocha cakes w/ raspberry cream and pink champagne.
We’re also doing a low-key thing since our wedding is coming up soon and we’re trying to save money! Mr. Peach says he’s making me dinner. ^_^
I don’t think we’re doing anything big. Our 3 1/2 year anniversary is 3 days later, so we’ll probably combine the two the weekend after. Also, I can’t do much for Valentine’s this year since I’m moving. It’s okay though, cuz we can celebrate our love anyday!
Our first date was on Valentine’s Day so it’s special for us. I think we’ll get all dressed up and go out somewhere… plans TBD so thanks for the push!
I bought him the “P, I love you -H” piece from wonderful graffiti - I have wedding bee to thank for that!~
we don’t do much for v-day either…our anniversary is exactly a month after. that and we’re also long distance so we haven’t spent an actual v-day together. but we have sent each other cards and little fun gifts though. we celebrate the day more like one of our “monthlies” than actually valentine’s day

My BF was in Thailand over Valentine’s day last year, but he had planned a mini scavenger hunt around the house with presents for me. He called me and walked me through it, it was so sweet!
Maybe you could arrange something with Mr. Raspberry’s hotel so he gets a little present from you while you are apart
I hate Valentine’s day and plan on sitting at home…going to dinner at best. I usually get flowers which is pretty much all I would ever want!
