Floral Concepts… DONE!

January 25th, 2007 @ 1:51 pm by Mrs. Lime

A friend oh-so-generously offered to help me with nailing down a florist, so I put together the following document, an RFP of sorts, if you will. This way, either of us can use this to start the conversation with potential florists to make sure my vision, their pricing, and my budget align before scheduling face-to-face meetings and getting specific quotes.I’m aiming for monochromatic (red) flowers, fluffy blooms that take up lots of space (to save on cost), minimal greenery and filler, and my soft aqua accents via wraps and ribbon. Again, I don’t like most blue flowers and want to minimize white flowers, even for my own bouquet.

And yes, this took way too long.

Wow. I’m impressed too. But I guess to get what you really want, you’ve got to be very exact. OTOH, your florist might have some great suggestions for you!

I am very impressed. You have such strong vision and I think this is a very cool way to communicate to vendors.

thanks for the comments, all.

yes, this is for direction only, and i am definitely open to my future florists’ direction. i definitely want to give them some room for creativity.

i needed to do this exercise to make myself focus and delete all the other pretty flower pictures i have that are nice but aren’t appropriate to my event, not to give my florist an exact prescrption per se. this is my “first draft” or “design concept,” if you will ;)

Miss Lime! I just noticed where you’re venue is. It’s like 15 minutes away from me :) I’ve been looking for a venue to bring in my own caterer… thanks for the help!

Holly moly, that was, like, the most helpful thing I’ve ever read. I guess I never really got how complicated the coordination of flowers is. Thanks for sharing.

Can you guess my favorite part of this? There are eight of them, and they’re all white. And they’re “vessels,” not “vases.” Bwahahahahaha.

You are my favorite fruit in the whole wide world.

MissBree says:

MissLime, can you take over planning my wedding? I’ll by you some pinkberry yogurt…

This looks amazing (both the RFP idea and the actual ideas you have in it).

Do you know where the pictures of the aisle runner with the rocks are from?
