Bora BoraDay 1
Bora Bora Day 2
Nov 27 / Monday
We woke up early, ate some breakfast, and then waited at the dock for our boat to come pick us up. Today we go on a water excursion! I was soooo excited!

I have never seen so many shades of blue in one ocean. It was beautiful!

So we finally got to swim with sharks and sting rays. Amazing! I was a little freaked out at this point but I was still okay. I think I heard the name Steve Irwin mentioned like 4-5 times. The rays are SOOO friendly! They just swim right up to you and they want you to pet them. Yes you do have to be careful of their tail. It’s razor sharp. One of them nicked me in the arm and cut it a little bit. My underwater camera film still needs to be developed so shark photos to come later.

Here’s Mr. Ladybug just chilling with the rays. The camera is really shaky because I was shivering, but he had like 4 just come up to him.
After we swam with the rays and sharks, we started following our guide in the water to get to this area called “Coral Gardens.” This is where I freaked out. I started having a panic attack. Yes the water was shallow, about 5 feet, BUT I was thinking “We just swam with the sharks by the boat and now we just swim freely on our own in the same water? And even though the water is shallow what if some big current hits me and carries me away?!”
The hubs tried to calm me down but he was getting annoyed cause I was flipping out. We were pretty far from the boat so I was just thinking “Eff you, eff the tour guide, I’m on my own and I’m gonna get back to the boat before the sharks come and get me!” This whole thing was my idea too. I suck monkey balls.
Afterwards we got back in the boat to get to a remote motu, and while we were on our way we saw dolphins!

So we finally get to this remote motu, and our guide cuts up fresh fruit that he picked from the island. The pineapple is AMAZING! It tastes nothing like the pineapple you can get here.

We also saw a baby shark swimming by itself and the beach had all these little hermit crabs that I kept piling up to make a hermit crab army. The sand was sooo white and the sun was sooo strong that the sand looks invisible in the photos.

By the time we were done with this excursion I was BURNT off my ASS! I mean I was roasted! Yes I used sunblock but maybe I didn’t reapply enough. No time to waste though so we rented bikes and rode around one side of the island.

I couldn’t get a photo of us together on the bike so this was the best I could do.

Later that night we went to eat at Bloody Mary’s. Word around town is that if you’re an American you have to come to Bloody Mary’s. You will see how sunburnt I got in these photos.

Nov 28 / Tuesday
We wake up the next morning and I am EXTREMELY sad for today we are leaving. We grabbed some breakfast and then hung out till our car came to pick us up to take us to the water taxi.

While waiting for our plane I saw this ad on land safaris and guess who was on the ad (the one in the shades)? Our tour guide Jay! He’s so funny and he was also very cool.

Farewell Bora Bora. I will miss you so much and I promise we’ll be back some day. I pinky swear it.
Here we come Moorea!
