Kayak.com

For those of you actively planning your honeymoon, be sure to check out http://www.kayak.com/. This site is your all-in-one vacation trip planner, which I found especially helpful for finding the best bang for my buck when purchasing airline tickets.

When you conduct a search using the days and locations you’ll be flying to and from, Kayak searches hundreds of airline sites and other discount sites to bring up a comprehensive list of airline tickets, which you can customize to view by prices, airlines, departure times, flight lengths, or number of stops. Below the lowest price Kayak has found, it lists the places you can purchase the tickets from for that price (directly from the airline, cheaptickets.com, aa.com, among others), as well as other vendors’ prices for the same ticket. You can choose where you ultimately end up buying your tickets, and Kayak redirects you to whichever site you pick. Happy Kayak-ing!

I LOVE kayak. It’s so flexible and user friendly. It’s always the first place I check and tell others to go to. Great post!

I just recently discovered kayak.com and it’s great. i really do get the best airplane fares through that website. Another handy resource for honyemoon planning is travelzoo.com. There are some pretty amazingly inexpensive deals on there. A few years back my fiance and I went to Maui for less than a 1000 bucks for the both of us total including airfare, rental car, and hotel for 5 days. What a freakin’ deal. Ever since then, I have been spreading the word.

Just one warning about kayak and sidestep - you still have to be careful about the website they redirect you to. 2 days ago I used kayak to book my honeymoon. I was redirected to cheapseats.com, aka, onetravel.com. I “bought” my tickets and they sent me emails saying my credit card needed proper authorization and to call or email them. Of course when I tried, no one replied. Later they say they can only confirm my reservation if I use Western Union. Turns out they have an unsatisfactory rating with the Better Business Bureau. I didn’t lose anything and I ignored their emails, but be careful!!
