Xyron Sticker Machine

January 25th, 2007 @ 7:11 pm by Mrs. Bee

All Xyron sticker machines at Joann’s are on sale right now, and I’m considering buying this one. It’s on sale for $19.99 (from $39.99). Does anyone have one? How do you like it?

You can use this to create stickers from any image for all kinds of wedding crafts - like the placecard stickers Miss Hibiscus blogged about earlier.

Also get 40% off one regularly priced item at Joann’s through February 1 with coupon code JANE740.

I have been thinking about getting one for my DIY invites. But, I’m concerned with the cost of the replacement cartridges. Plus, refils for the 500 don’t seem to be readily available.

I’ve used one for work and I think they’re fabulous! I’ve used spray mount, glue stick, studio-tac and the xryon is by far the easiest, non-toxic option. Thanks for the headsup on the Joann’s sale. I was waited for it to go on sale!

I bought my 510 xyron half off and have used it to make my save the date magnets. It worked out great and is easy to use but the cartridges are expensive and everytime you pull it thru and cut it, you waste some of it. But that’s just the way it works. Just wait for the coupons. I haven’t tried the regular laminate cartridge, but will soon for my invites.

I got the little sticker one half off too. That works well for little things.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. I bought it using a Michaels 40% coupon and don’t regret it for a minute. I’ve used the sticker adhesive cartridges and quickly learned how to space the items (don’t cut them apart before sending through) and cut them off without wasting alot of the cartridge.

The Xyron 510 is similar to the 500, but has more capabilities and the cartridges are more available.

For little stickers like the ones in the place card example, you’re probably better off with the Xyron 150 (”X”)– by using a smaller one you’re wasting much less adhesive. I love my xyrons, but the adhesives add up quickly (definitely something to wait for 40% off coupons from Michaels or Joann to stock up on those).

I love mine!! Keep an eye out for coupons for the refills cause they can add up too, but at 40% off (and sometimes more on ebay) it’s TOTALLY worth it!! It’s a scrapbookers dream too, Bee! :)

does anyone know how big the magnet and sticker refill cartridges are? i’m trying to figure out if using the xyron 510 would be cheaper than having std magnets made.

I also used the 40% off coupon to get mine. Great for scrapbooking, DIY invites (for my SIL’s baby shower), and making stickers. For my dog’s birthday party I plan on making party hats and cups and stuff using printed out pictures of Dory (my dog’s name) since there are never any party supplies with just Dory and no Nemo. Best thing about xyron? got the DH hooked on doing it just perfectly, so he is the xyron master!

I used mine for sticker labels on our favors and holy smokes does it stick!!! We had extra candy tins that I tried to get the labels off of and there was no way that adhesive was letting go! Highly recommend it!!!
