Beehive

January 26th, 2007 @ 6:12 pm by Beehive

In today’s hive:

  • CBeth is going to spend a couple of days in Orlando after her St. Augustine, FL wedding. She wants to stay some place nice ($175-$250/night) the first night, that is classy and has a great bed. Has anyone stayed in the nicer chains (Westin, Crowne Plaza) or have any recommendations or places to avoid?
  • Erin wants to know if anyone has had a hard time using MyPublisher with a MAC. She can’t get past the page where you load your personal information - it just loads to the same page over and over.
  • Kymberli is looking for individual letter stamps about 1 inch but no bigger than 1.5 inches. She’s tried foam stamps but they don’t work as well as rubber stamps.
  • jw is about to marry into a very traditional Korean family. She got a tattoo in a drunken college bout and would like to cover it on her wedding day. Any tips for quick cover-up?
  • Jayma wants to know if there’s an easy way to print return addresses on the back of envelopes with Microsoft Word. Everything she’s found is for printing addresses on the front of the envelope.

MyPublisher wasn’t compatible with MACs until very recently. Maybe they’re still trying to work out the kinks.

Erin,

There is a plugin that you have to download to use mypublisher with a mac - i haven’t used it myself, but noticed it available actually this morning when i was looking at the site - when you log in, its one of the options on the toolbar at the top of the page… try downloading that, and hopefully that might help.

check out dermablend, joe blasco, and ben nye - all theater makeup brands that offer excellent coverage.

Erin, i used the iPhoto software to create a photobook and then used the MyPublisher plugin to upload it. Worked like a charm.

Is there an easy way of using microsoft word to print return addresses on the back of envelopes? Everything I’ve found so far in word is just for printing regular return addresses on the front- Thanks!

CBeth:

I recommend the Omni. It was fantastic for us, and the bed was superb.

For Orlando I highly recommend the Grand Bohemian Hotel (www.kesslerhotels.com ) - it fits the bill in every way!

Does anyone know any good, recommended places to get a wedding dress made for you? (Not too expensive!) My dream dress is way out of my budget and the only good places are in NYC! I live in LA. I could also go to the OC area as well. This could possibly be for the bridesmaids dresses too.

Melodiouscarol- you could try checking a local art school, if they have a good fashion dept. you might find some very talented people who are willing to make you a beautiful dress for a great price. just a suggestion. ^_^

Try FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising) in Downtown L.A.

Though, we just spent about $540 on a great gown from Alfred Angelo’s. They have salons here in So. Cal (I went to two of them: Lakewood and Upland).

Also, there’s Priceless Bridals in Van Nuys. It’s the warehouse for the online store and if you’re more of an average size, you’ll find so many dresses there. I’m a plus size and I found about a dozen that fit, which is nothing to sneeze at:) All of them under $500.
