I’m making my own programs, menu cards, seating cards and favor packaging. That’s as far as I can mentally and physically go. But others, much braver than I, have attempted far more. I’m convinced they must be blood relatives of Martha herself.

At the Sugar Cake Studio, brides and grooms learn how to make their own wedding cake! For $150, couples are taught to make a two tier cake–icing assistance included–the day before the wedding. If you’re the calm, collective type, this would be a very creative addition to your wedding day. If your personality runs closer to a chicken with its head cut off type, you can always pick up a pre-made wedding cake from them as well!

This is sooo cool. You know I think wedding cakes are pretty vulgar, so this way I could overcome that with something I created. I am constantly up and down about this wedding…the officiant cancelled, so we have to find another, my fiance’s family is coming from out of town for a day and then leaving, etc. But this is the kind of thing that gets me excited again.

WHOA!! that sounds like an awesome DIY!!!! anyone know of a place in NYC or the surrounding areas that would offer this??
