I love love love weddingbee!!!! I’m getting so many ideas before I’m even engaged! The Bees make me laugh, and have given me so many great ideas. I love to think about what I would do if money were no object. I have so many ideas!
Thank you for putting all of this info out there. It’s nice to see information from real people with real budgets!

Don’t remember how I heard of it - it was sometime last summer. My weddingbee obsession ranges from several obsessive times a day to once every other day. LOL.

Dallas, Texas - but we’re living up in Virginia for my fiance’s grad school

I would have to say Dallas - we’re only in Virginia for 2.5 more years

Hmmm…probably about how we sent out invitations last week and someone has bought our first gift on our registry!

I think I’d want to be different and be “Miss Snowflake”, since that’s a big part of my wedding theme!

I found the link to Weddingbee through xanga, where I keep a blog… I would say that I check it about 2-3 times a day when I’m near a computer.

We are getting married in our church. And our reception will be at a local college campus, where there’s hardwood floors and a HUGE fireplace. I am so excited!

Over 2 and a half years, but we’ve known each other for over six years.

It would be an introduction, I’d tell you all about me and my sweetie, and our basic wedding ideas so far…
1. I think I would pick a butterfly because I really feel that I will feel so different after the wedding. This whole process has really forced me to think more long term ie like a grown-up. Making such a huge commitment to someone else and realizing that I can no longer make most of my life decisions by myself has been such an incredible process and has really caused me to evaluate my long term goals, and what I want to see in my future.
2. I found it through a link, I really wish I could remember from where, sorry. I check it several times a day, I find it so encouraging especially with the new posters from such varied places and budgets.

7.My first post would probably be about how to best personalize your wedding to really represent the two of you and not trying to make your wedding look like a magazine spread. The most inspiring weddings I see are ones that really give you a feel for the couple, not the wedding coordinator/latest trend. The one that comes to mind is in Martha Stewart where the couple met in elementary school so they had a school theme through out from the custom invitations, to the chalk board photography background and lunch tray food service. Weddings like that really inspire me.

I saw an ad for it on Xanga way back in 2006…like around March or something. I check it pretty much every day and a lot of times throughout the day.

We are getting married on June 8, 2007! Only four more months! I’m so excited.

I would post about how excited I am to be a weddingbee blogger. Then I might go into my DIY projects, such as my guest book, ring bearer pillows, and other wedding related things. I’d also talk about my FI and I, our history, and the fun way we got together.

My first blog would definitely be about the art of compromise. Your first task when getting engaged is to figure out your priorities. Easy enough, right? Until you realize that your wedding priorities are not the same as your fiance’s priorities. Finding the balance so that everyone is happy is definitely an artform.

I found out through a friend at work (in November 2006) and I also work with Miss Emerald! I check the site several times a day. If nothing is going on (or because I check the site too often!), I sometimes do searches on one particular bloggers wedding ideas.

It would be about how to really get started with all the planning. I found it most helpful to spend a few months collecting ideas first and then to discuss them with family and friends. After doing some serious research on what these “dream wedding” items will actually cost you, you should then establish a budget. Establishing a budget first can be deceiving unless you know the true price of your dream wedding, as I have painfully learned!

That’s a tough one. Besides introducing myself I would like to talk about the pressures that family and in-laws place on couples during the wedding planning process. My Fiance and I are very torn between having a wedding that we would like (i.e. Western Style) as opposed to a traditional 12 course Chinese one that is expected by our families.
Or I would post about in-laws and how my future mother in law asked recently if we were planning to take her on our honeymoon since her friends kids all do!
This is trite, but a difficult question. I wear Gardenia Passion perfume, but we will be using a lot of tulips in our wedding because we are near one of the largest tulip-growing areas in the world. My invitations are being hand painted in a botanical style, of vinca. I also consider myself Old Spice, because of my age as a first time bride and I thought that would be my name if I were a Spice Girl.
I check wedding bee five times a day, because I am currently wedding obsessed.
We will be married in Seattle and I represent Washington. My fiance is from a small town outside Dallas, but identifies with Northwest values.
We have been together nearly four years and engaged for three.

2. How’d you find out about Weddingbee and how often do you check the site? Honestly I do not check the site often. I read the email updates daily =) and check the website when I have extra time.
3. When’s your wedding/When was your wedding? It was originally set for July 22, 2006 but has been postponed for now.
4. Where are you getting married/Where did you get married? We will be married at the Japanese Gardens entrance. I will be waiting on the island in the garden area and will cross the bridge over the lake. The lake and island will be a gorgeous background for our photos. The best part is (aside from the wedding & beauty!) that it only costs $35.00 to use as it is part of our local park!
5. What city/state are you representing? Longview, Washington. It is located in SW Washington, about two hours south of Seattle WA and forty minutes north of Portland OR.
6. How long have you and your fiance/husband been together? Two and a half lovely years.

The best bit of bridal advice I’ve had to date is to take a minute when you are up at the altar and look back on the people who have gathered there to honor you and your FI/DH’s moment and to be there with you to celebrate at your monster party afterwards. My friend said it took her breath away. I’d like to ask all of the readers “What is the best nibble of advice you’ve recieved and who gave it?”
