Cake - Done!

January 29th, 2007 @ 9:29 am by Mrs. Plum

Finally, almost every last little detail has been locked into place for the wedding! There is nothing that feels better than finishing a huge project happy06 - especially when you’ve been working on it for over 2 years. stunned02 Yep, I said it - 2 years. We have been engaged for 2 years (I decided to wait until I finished school to get married - I finished school in 3 years and graduated early in August!)Anyway, back to the cake story and pictures. We went to check out Frosted Art Bakery & Studio after hearing so many great things - and we were not disappointed at all. Frosted Art is one of the more reputable bakeries in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area and arguably one of the best. With award-winning/Food Network contest-winning Bronwen Weber as the executive chef, how could it not be good?

One of her award-winning designs - also featured on the Food Network (you may recognize this one!)

We went in with high expectations because of all the hype, and let me tell you it’s for a good reason - she definitely lives up to her reputation! The cakes are beautiful and delicious!

We ended up picking mojito silver pound cake, chocolate smores cake with marshmallow fluff, and chocolate kahlua cake. Mmmmmmmm.

[from InStyle Weddings Fall 2006 - Lovin Sullivan Cakes]This really cute, vintage-looking china pattern cake. Ours will be a light blue-green with chocolate detailing - our wedding colors of course! happy06 (and a bit of the bird motif winky03)

I can’t wait! laughin05

Mmmm… those flavors sound amazing. Hooray for Food Network cake bakers (mine too!).

I just saw that China pattern yesterday online and was so intrigued by it :) What an awesome pattern!

That is a gorgeous cake–can’t wait to see what it looks like in brown and blue-green. Hurry up and get married because I’m dying to see how this all comes together! Your details are really wonderful so far.

I’m getting my cake there too! Sounds like they’ve added some flavors since we were there. We may need to do another tasting! Darn!

I’m dying for a s’more cake!!! When I go to my cake lady, I’m hoping that she can concoct something with chocolate, graham cracker crust layers, and fluff. Probably white cake (I hate chocolate cakes) with layers of graham crackers and fluff, frosted in chocolate and piped in fluff (if possible…). mmm.
