He proposed after dating just two months - crazy, I know, but 2 years later, here we are, still crazy in love :-). We are having not one, but TWO weddings and TWO receptions in one weekend - American-style and Vietnamese-style - in Dallas, Texas, where I was born and raised!

Wedding Voo-doo Update

Part I

My grandfather came back into town yesterday and he asked me when my wedding was. He then commenced to open his “special asian calendar voo-doo book” as I like to call it.

Grandfather: “OOOH! You picked a really good date! It’s one of the best days you could’ve picked out of the whole year - it falls on a full moon……. If you had picked the day after (Saturday = my mother’s choosing), it would’ve been a really bad day! Not lucky at all - it’s a really ugly day!”

Go figure.

Regardless, everything is already set it stone - I signed all the contracts, paid all my deposits/vendors. The end!

I know this year is supposed to be the year of the Golden Pig.. where do you find information on “horoscopes” for your zodiac sign.. or where did your grandfather get his book that shows the fortune of certain dates, is it only for this year or next year too?

my grandfather bought his book at a buddhist temple - I think you can also get them at any Vietnamese book store.
