I have this one. It’s good for maintaining clean jewelry but when my e-ring is really dirty it doesn’t make much of a difference and the jewelry store can clean it a million times better.

I have the ultrasonic cleaner from Sharper Image (the new model that comes with the silver tarnish bin + solution). I bought it on ebay, refurbished, for around… $35 (including shipping). I loved it at first, but I found that it wasn’t exactly the safest method on my pave ering. Although it’s be debated quite a bit, I have to say that all 4 pave rings that I’ve put in have had melees pop out at one point. Some say it’s faulty craftsmanship on the ring but I beg to differ - as all 4 rings were from reputable jewelers. In any case, I do recommend it for any other type of ring - channel set, invisible set, etc. I have also found a homemade solution recipe that works WONDERS over their “included” bottle of solution. I nuke one cup of water in the microwave and then pour it into the cleaner. I then squirt 10 or more squirts of windex (it has ammonia) and then 1 or 2 drops of regular old diswashing liquid soap. I pop my ring in and then run it on a cycle or 2 or more (OCD). When it’s done I run it under hot water and then dry it with a can of air. Hahaha.. can’t have watermarks now, can we!? The ring looks exactly the way it would if I had taken it in. The SI solution doesn’t cost much but still.. this homemade version works great and everyone has windex at home. Sorry this comment is so long!

I have a sonic jewelry bath by Connoisseurs. It works great and keeps my ring extra very sparkly.

Ditto the monkee… a jeweler friend of mine told me that one of the best (+ cheapest) cleaners you can use for diamonds is simple green diluted in a little bit of warm water. I do this about once a week, use a toothbrush to get in between the prongs, and VOILA! It works incredibly well.

If you want to clean jewelry like a professional, try using a solution of half water and Mr. Clean with a small amount of ammonia. Soak in the ultrasonic for 15 seconds then rinse with water and dry. This is the same method used by many jewelers I know. The full article about cleaning fine jewelry can be found here How to Clean Fine Jewelry /a>
