About Mrs. Apple

Mr. Apple and I visited a Dave and Busters together a few years ago. Dave and Busters is the adult version of Chuck ‘e Cheese - they house a full restaurant and bar, poker tables, pool tables, and all of the latest arcade type games. We were in the arcade area playing the games and we came across a funny little photo booth, “The Gene Machine.” Instead of just taking your photo, this photo booth morphs your digital image (any character trait - eye shape, nose size, eyebrow arch, etc.) with your significant other’s image to create your imaginary progeny.

So we both went into the booth and had our photo’s taken, half thinking that our kids would be Kodak commercial worthy. Oh boy, were we surprised at the results. We couldn’t stop laughing at the print outs - a little mortified to say the least. The girl was a good mix of Mr Apple and I, the boy was kind of cute I guess in a William Hung/American Idol sort of way. whateva02

My sister took these with her now husband while they were dating, and the boy photo resembles my little nephew to the T. I know we have the photo somewhere in our house. I’ll have to keep digging to post up our little “William.” In the meantime here are some samples I found by googling.

Has anyone taken photos on “The Gene Machine” or wondered what you and your SO’s children would look like?

My FI and I did something similar in Vegas a long time ago. Our “kid” was this awful looking teenage girl. She practically had a mullet! I hope our kids are cuter.

My FI and I did a boy and a girl. It looks like they take the adult features and slap it on a baby’s face. Ridiculous!

I did the gene machine with my husband at Ripley’s in Atlantic City. After 8 years of trying for a baby we were finally blessed with a little boy and guess what. He looks dead on the photo we had done. My mom thinks it’s disturbing. I thought of sending it in to Ripley’s haha.

HI. I did the Gene Machine once and actually my baby turned out to look EXACTLY like that little blonde haired girl. so i dont think these will actually show you what they realy look like unless we have identical strangers of children.

haha.

My BF and I had a son and daughter, both with cleft lips. I was a lil mad about that.

I did it years ago before my first child and the creepy thing is that it looked exactly like his father did as a baby.

I’ve done this machine before with my boyfriend. Actually his younger sister was the one who originally found the machine and our children came out absolutely hideous to say the least. But i find it funny that the first little boy in the picture above is the same child that my boyfriends sister was given. And the same picture of that child two years later was posted on the side of the machine with two different parents. I think the pictures are taken from a pool of children that were previously created by the machine.
