BM Dresses

January 31st, 2007 @ 12:27 pm by Mrs. Peach

BM dresses arrived awhile ago from Netbride. Their service was great, and all my girls got their dresses with no mishaps in a timely fashion. Including shipping and such, their prices were the best too!

As modeled by my MOH, twas a bit big for her and everyone else:

Other than being big in general, I thought they were too long and I didn’t like how so much of the white trim showed at the bottom. I had all the girls alter their dresses to right below the knee-cap and for the bottom trim to be only one inch thick. My middle sister in her altered dress:

We’ll most likely shorten the ribbon and decide whether or not to have it in the front (like above) or move it to the back… Unfortunately I don’t have a picture of any of them with the ribbon in the back, but you know what I mean? Any opinions about this?

i vote for the ribbon in the front and i agree that the length should be shortened.

That looks great! The altered pic look perfect. I would like the ribbon in the front better. Or nothing hanging at all.

They look SO much better altered!!!! I like the ribbon in the front but agree it should be shortened.

i like the altered dress a lot better than the original. I think the ribbon would look better if it’s a little thicker (white satin sash, 2 - 3 inches wide) and tie in the back. this way, symmetry is intact when the bridesmaids hold their bouquets for pictures.

yes - the altered dress looks great!
i think the ribbon should be tied in the front and it should be shortened…i agree w/ nhung..try to experiment w/ a thicker sash/ribbon…the thin ribbon may coordinate w/ the thinness of the trim on the top/bottom, but a thicker ribbon may be a nice accent as well! ;)

the alterations make them look so much more flattering! I say ribbon in the front too. Ribbon in the back is a little to apron-y.

The alterations DO look so much better! The dress flows a lot better when it’s shorter. I agree with some of the other commenters, I think a thicker sash would look a bit better, if you can afford it, that is. =) Did you have to pay additional for alterations? Or was it included by Netbride?

Those are adorable! I love them and the color. I like the ribbon in the front, but it would probably look nice in the back too.

I can’t decide without a pic of the ribbon in the back. What brand and style# are those dresses? I think they look very flattering.

nhung- ooo i like the idea of a thicker sash tied in the back! i’ll have to try that.

L- alterations are NOT included with netbride.

EG- dresses are from Alfred Sung bridesmaids. Style D317i, Kiwi color with White trim. ^_^

i think the dresses are really cute… especially the color.

also, i went to the same college as you and graduated the same year. i was pretty sure, but when i saw the pic of your MOH, i knew b/c she was in a couple of my classes.

don’t worry, i know you’re keeping it a secret, but it’s fun to find out i’m not the only weddingbee obsessed alumna.

The altered dress is much more flattering! And I agree that the bow should go in the front.

Iris says:

Hem hitting at the thickest part of the calf is never flattering. Definitely shorten!
