Bridezilla Update

January 31st, 2007 @ 7:29 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

Evidently the scissor happy bride who cut her own hair on her wedding day, is indeed a fake. According to dlisted.com, the bride is an aspiring Canadian actress by the name of Jodi Behan. I’m so relieved. Aren’t you? :)

aw. I was kind of hoping it was real… it would prove that there’s people out there who are more neurotic than me when they’re stressed..

lol i was seriously wondering if the video was fake or not! but now that i know that it’s fake, i realize that it was too crazy for someone to react that way over a bad curl job. there’s such thing as washing your hair.

Figured it was fake but only because her bridesmaids were so calm and pretty much laughing/giggling the entire time. I would HOPE that no bride has “best friends” who let her cut her hair like that on her wedding day.

“Bride” is a good actress though :-)

You have to admit, they did a pretty decent and realistic job of setting it up. The bridesmaids all looked like they had hair and makeup done for the wedding, one of them pointed out that she fogot to put on the earings that the other bridesmaid was wearing. They had on matching bridesmaid dresses. The bride walked (stormed) in wearing a button down shirt after getting her hair done so that she wouldn’t have to pull a shirt over her newly done hair , as we all should know is what’s recommended to wear to get your hair done. Her make up and nails were done, she had what looked like and e-ring on her finger. There was a real wedding dress hanging from the door.
Things that made it questionable:
-they opened the champagne before the bride got there
-there were scissors handy, way too handy
-the fact that someone taped it all is the biggest give away
-the quick pan to the bridesmaid laughing, the timeing was very comedic, too comedic.
-the bridesmaid kept turning the camera back on after being yelled at.
-they didn’t tackle her when she started cutting her hair.
I’ve spent entirely too much time on this….

As a bride-to-be who’s had a couple meltdowns, it made me feel better that my meltdowns were mild in comparison….

I’m relieved too. I think that clip literally gave me a nightmare. Shouldn’t have watched it right before bedtime!

the bride’s meltdown was somewhat unrealistic. Esp how she was trying to thrash on the floor about her hair.

i don’t know if i trust dlisted as an authority, but i must admit, i totally believed it was real. it was actually the laughing bridesmaids that made me believe.

I figured it had to be fake, the major tip off was they continued to tape even though the “bride” was obviously having a massive melt down. Though you might think your friend was being a total nut job for getting so crazy over her hair you wouldn’t continue video taping her as she was flipping out.

if it’s fake then she did it for publicity. they featured her on E! News.

i hated this clip; i think it reinforces the bridezilla stereotype. i also thought the actress was terrible: completely cheesy and a total HAM.

I am relieved since I thought it was fake to begin with…but WHY bother? That took a lot of staging if you ask me!

It looked pretty fake to me too. I didn’t think the actress really was that great at acting. Just the way she would cry and subsequently yell at the top of her lungs and cuss at her bridesmaids were a bit weird and awkward. As angry as I would be about my ugly hair, I wouldn’t be swearing at my bridesmaids, who are supposedly my good friends I chose to be up at the altar with me, for something that wasn’t even their fault! Just doesn’t make sense to me…

It didn’t take much setup at all actually. According to the actress’ hometown newspaper, thetorontoist, the scene was filmed the morning of her actual wedding. She was wearing a wig, so all the hair that got chopped wasn’t really hers. Talk about a fun way to relieve wedding day jitters!!

I think I just saw a commercial for Good Morning America. I wasn’t able to catch the whole thing, but they were talking about the video. It’ll be on tomorrow 2/2 at 9 am I think. Maybe if someone can watch it, we will know for sure if it’s real or not.
