On that same honeymoon vein, I have a few more honeymoon-related polls for you!

First, are you taking a honeymoon?

View Results

Second, when are you leaving for your honeymoon? (please exclude minimoons)

View Results

Third, how long will your honeymoon be? (please exclude minimoons)

How much are you spending on your honeymoon in relation to your wedding?

Miss Kiwi has officially termed me “The Pollmaster” so I have to live up to my title! :-D But yeah, I’m hoping there’s at least one other person out there who appreciates statistics as much as I do!

Hey Pollmaster B! Did I ever tell you I failed statistics? And, is it sad that the minimoon is what I’m looking forward to most? :D

I love the polls! It helps me see if I’m being anywhere near normal about all of this! Either that or we’re all abnormal, which is fine too, so long as I have company!

Only one problem with this poll though - you made me do math on a Friday afternoon after lunch! I hated fractions as a kid, still do! At least you didn’t ask for percentages!!

And I forgot to mention - my FI was talking to some of his married older co-workers and they were asking about the honeymoon. FI told them our plans and our aprehension about it being a bit too much money, and every last one of them said it was worth it. That if we were planning on having children (which we are), that there was never going to be another chance for it for another 20 years or so and to go while we could still make our knees climb all the stairs in Edinburgh or walk all over Venice. So FI’s not feeling so burdened by the price as much anymore. It’ll be expensive, but he’s seeing the worth. So excited!!
Sorry for the extra long comments!~

Haha sorry about making you guys do math!! I was trying to phrase the questions as simply as possible but I still wanted to get at the ratio vs the wedding somehow!

I don’t know why I get such a perverse pleasure of seeing averages and medians and where I fall in it all! It’s just too much fun. Oh well. :-)

And thistleorchid - I have a pretty similar story too! When we were trying to decide if it was really worth the money to go to Madagascar, my dad said “I have regretted money I’ve spent on just about everything, but I have never regretted money spent traveling.” :-D

thistleorchid…just to reassure you a bit, my professor traveled all over the world with children in tow, as have many other couples that I’ve known. They say that it’s a totally different experience, and sometimes better, to see things through their eyes.

i love the polls too. they are such a great reality check.

one more question i would have liked on this one though…how are you paying for the honeymoon? we are doing a honeymoon registry and, honestly, if we weren’t i think we would have skipped it - we can’t spend any more money!!
