Last time we had narrowed our hotel choices in Manuel Antonio down to four options. After contacting all of them, Costa Verde II and Si Como No were booked, and Hotel Parador didn’t reply to my email. So the choice was easy - Hotel La Mariposa! With reviews like “one of the finest views of the Pacific Ocean in the entire world,” how could we go wrong?

I can’t wait to check out the beautiful view and sunsets…

The infinity pool, swim-up bar, and fresh seafood…

We’ll see lots of animals like monkeys, iguanas, sloths, birds and more oh my! Mr. Bee really thinks I’m part monkey, so I’ll finally be reunited with my kin!

I want to do the ziplines most of all - gliding from tree to tree above the forest canopy. Tours are available during the day and night!

And we have to do a guided tour of Manuel Antonio National Park.

Now we just have to decide whether to go kayaking, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, or ride atv’s on our final day. I love extreme sports, but have never gone kayaking or been on an atv. My fellow adventure enthusiasts - what are your favorite “extreme” sports? I have to try everything at least once before I die.

Thanks so much to everyone who gave me such wonderful advice about where to go, what to eat, and things to do. We’re gonna try to visit as many places as possible, so I can do an extensive review. Now I just need to renew my passport, and we’re good to go. I think this is the most excited I’ve been about a vacation ever!
