6 Months To Go

February 7th, 2007 @ 9:32 am by Mrs. Lime

We just realized we are exactly six months out today. Others’ checklists bore me, but here I am blogigng one as I need to do this to get my own head back on straight. Here is what we’ve accomplished (going off my coordinator’s handy checklist):

- Ceremony + reception site booked.
- Officiants asked.
- Attendants selected.
- Ceremony musician booked.
- Color scheme, look + feel of wedding determined.
- Photographer booked.
- Wedding dress ordered + in my possession.
- Hair accessories selected.
- Caterer booked.
- Guest list determined. Addresses almost gathered.
- Save-the-dates sent.
- DIY invite design started.
- In process of signing contract with DJ.

Here’s what our weekends for the next month look like:

[2.2]
- Met friend to borrow preeeeecious hair accessories.
- Met with florist #1. [This meeting went really well, and I had two friends there with me, one of whom used him for her wedding not too long ago. She's also much better at negotiating than I. His vision is great, his prices are about right, and I'm so tempted to just book him so I don't have to schedule any more vendor meetings.]
- Met with DJ #1. [On the drive home, we decided to just go with him instead of interviewing more DJs.]
[2.3]
- Day off from wedding. Tried out my new wedding-colored snowboard.
[2.4]
- Pre-marital class #5 of 6.
- Hair & makeup trial #1. [I ended up booking her right after. Because I am too cheap to pay for another trial, because I am lazy, because she has a special offer that's almost 50% off her regular rates right now, and because I was really happy with the trial. An entry with photos to come...]
[2.11]
- Pre-marital class #6 of 6.
- Appointment with custom veil seamstress. [Praying and hoping my dress still fits as I will be trying it on with potential veils.]
[2.17]
- Tentative cake tasting(s) in the morning.
- Friends’ wedding! I will again be manning the guestbook and gift table.
[2.25]
- Crate&Barrel Sunday Morning Engagement

In between there, I need to fit in a couple more florist meetings, continued development on invites, blocking hotel rooms, and starting on our website. Whew! It feels good to just get all that down in writing. For those of you that made it this far, “wow” is all I have to say.

I actually really like reading people’s lists because it helps me remember things I may have forgotten

Such a great list for other brides who are in the same time line as you to see how they’re doing.

Keep up the good job. And I have to admit, the other lists like the knot and MS ARE boring.

ha! sorry if my startup was a bit harsh or offended. i meant that some lists that are constantly updated with every tiny item and re-posted over and over again get to me, as i’m on some wedding-related messageboards/sites where that happens often.

the lists i’ve seen blogged here and elsewhere usually are helpful in helping me (and other brides i’m sure) in remembering stuff to do and feeling good about checking things off.

I love list! I am just a few days away from my 6 month mark so I love your list. I am glad to see that I am just as on top of things as you are! Don’t listen to the list haters! Keep them coming!
