Last Sunday, Mama Blueberry and I went back to Fashions at Large (the shop we got Katie’s bridesmaid dress at) to find the perfect MOB dress for her. Katie and I had seen several cute dresses when we were browsing the day before, and I really wanted my mom to try on a couple.

My mom tried on several gorgeous dresses, and eventually found one really amazing one. What excited her more than the dress, though, I think, was the longline bra and Spanx “Higher power” (who doesn’t love Spanx?). She bought the outfit (a long dress + shorter jacket) and longline bra, and I just ordered Spanx for me and her, from the Spanx website. She looks so amazing in her wedding-day outfit, and I’m really happy that she found something so great!

I forgot to get a picture of her in the dress, so here are a couple of my dad’s arm holding it up, back at home.

OK it really doesn’t look as amazing in this picture as it does on…but maybe you’ll just have to take my word for it:

my mom plans on wearing a hanbok for my wedding so we’d probably just have that made so no dress shopping for us.

I went with my mom a few weeks ago, and she found the most amazing dress. She looks beautiful and it was a fun way to spend the day!

My mom just says she’s wearing “subdued cranberry” I told her that sounded like “mild fire-engine red” but whatever. I just hope she eels beautiful.

Speaking of moms, it’s my mommy’s bday today! And believe it or not, 22 years ago she went into labor with me (but I had to have my own birthday so I celebrate tomorrow hehe).

As for the MOB dress (don’t you love how all the acronyms for weddings are silly - STD, BM, MOB) I am definitely going with my mom, no matter what! I love her to death, but when it comes to clothes, we don’t agree sometimes. Given that she has declared she is wearing a skirt she bought at the Renaissance Festival when she remarries (June 2008, 8 months after my wedding), I HAVE to go with her, if not to pick out her dress, but to veto the ones I know she’ll be attracted to!

My mom was just out an about and apparently found the perfect dress at Macy*s today! It’s not your typical long, beaded mom number but she’s excited about it and I want her to feel beautiful, too. Otherwise, I’d be happy to shop with her…we’re pretty tight.
