When I first saw Terry Gruber’s secret proposal photographs featured in Modern Bride, I thought it was such a fantastic idea! A groom-to-be proposed to his girlfriend in Central Park, while Terry secretly photographed the entire proposal from a distance. A couple weeks later, the bride-to-be received a surprise package of pictures of the proposal in the mail. I might like that more than the proposal itself! Hehe I kid.

I recently met Terry at the Preston Bailey party, and mentioned how much I liked the secret proposal spread. He’s the nicest man, and does fantastic work (he’s photographed the weddings of Billy Joel, and Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones to name a few). I spoke with him again this morning, and he shared a story about one girl who asked the studio to email her boyfriend about the secret proposal photographs, but not to mention that she had asked them to lol.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I thought I’d blog about this so you could forward it on to any friends who may be planning on popping the question soon. I have 3(!) guy friends that are about to propose, so I’ll definitely be forwarding this to them!
