My (Hopeful) Wedding Band

February 12th, 2007 @ 12:31 pm by Mrs. Kiwi

At first, I wanted a band with diamonds on it, like my engagement ring. Then, after seeing some friends’ heirloom wedding bands - plain with just the engraving inside, I decided that I wanted a plain engraved band.

After many months of assuming I was going to get a plain white gold band, I’ve decided on something else - I need some kind of decoration. While I do love the hand carved bands with flowers or leaves worked into the ring, I’m thinking of something a little more plain.

So, I’ve decided to go with a plain band, with subtle milgraining, preferably in a 2.5mm or 3mm. I’ve since found this band from Wedding Bands Fast.

Now I can get something engraved in it, that Mr. Kiwi and I have finally decided on. One of our things is “You know how much I love you?” to which the other person says, “More than everything.” Since I can’t fit that whole phrase into our wedding bands, we’re just going to get “More than everything” and the date. Unfortunately, my wedding band can only fit 25 letters and spaces, and our phrase is about 3 letters off when I include the date. And I am so not using “Mo’ than…”

Instead of having the date in both of ours, I figured we could do “More than everything A&P” in mine, and the whole shebang in his. Does this make sense? Can you guys find another way around this? We considered nerding it up and using > (more than) instead of the words, but I don’t like that look.

What do you think?

Miss Kiwi,
What about if Mr. Kiwi gets “Do you know how much I love you?” in his and you get the answer, “More than everything” in yours? I think that would be so nice because they only make sense when they are together. Just a thought…

Alternatively, you could take out all the spaces and capitalize the first letter of every word. so it would read “MoreThanEverything”

I just wondered if your date was as simplified and short as it could be… i.e. 06/14/2007 down to 6/14/07 or whatnot. That’s a random date, BTW. :)

Ms Kiwi- any leads on where to look for the flower/nature carved bands? Thanks!

I tried to post this before, but it hasn’t popped up.
Anyway– http://www.e-weddingbands.com says that they can fit up to 30 letters and spaces on their plain bands. Although I do love Roslyn’s suggestion. Very sweet.

Thanks for the heads up, Pencils!

Ms Mouse, e-weddingbands.com is also a favorite of mine, and is now where I think I’m going to get my band from! Another place I’ve looked is amazon.com- are you looking for one in gold or platinum?

Thanks, Kiwi! Probably gold, it’s for Mr Mouse, he wants to match, but without the parkle.
