A Peek At My E-Ring

February 13th, 2007 @ 12:34 pm by Mrs. Lily

Miss Blueberry commented that she had never seen my engagement ring before, and I realized that I had been remiss in posting a snap of my gorgeous bling.

A Peek At My E-Ring : wedding new york rings Z752937 ring

It’s a little hard to tell what’s going on from this picture, but the ring is an art deco style from the 1920’s(ish) — it belonged to Mr. Lily’s great aunt. The two bands in the center are little mine-cut sapphires. The whole center part is raised and curved — as if it was the center of a daisy sticking up. Like I said, hard to explain, but very puuurty.

Anyone else have heirloom rings on their little fingers?

I meant to ask, what kind of wedding band are you going to do?

Miss Kiwi, I plan to blog about my bands soon! I will have two bands — one on the top and one on the bottom. Both are platinum with pave diamonds all the way around. :-)

OOOOOH!!! I have to admit I was stealing little glances at it at both get-togethers, but it’s great to see a head-on shot!! It’s gorgeous, and your wedding band idea sounds perfect for it!! And while my engagement ring isn’t an heirloom, there are several of them floating around in my family and I just love the sentimentality of them!!

No, I wish I had a heirloom ring. We’re looking into designing a ring that will be passed down through the family.

I always wished for one, and since we don’t have a family ring on either side, I want to start one on my own. I’m really big into family and thought this would be nice.

That’s a beautiful ring! And it’s lovely that it’s an heirloom. Makes you feel connected to the family. My fiance’s mother died a few weeks after we got engaged, and I was given a few pieces of her jewelry. I’m very honored to wear it, and I know it makes my fiance happy to see me wear it.

My engagement ring is vintage, but it’s not a family heirloom. It’s from the 1940s, an aquamarine set in platinum with tiny diamonds. I love my ring, it’s very, very me. :) And I was incredibly impressed that my fiance found such an amazing ring for me. He really does get me!

Pencils — how sweet that you FI managed to find an old ring that fit you so perfectly. And it is so wonderful that he likes to see you wearing his mother’s jewelry — I think that says a lot!

I have an heirloom diamond, but the setting is new. The diamond belonged to FI’s great-grandmother (we think). I love feeling like I’m connected to his family this way.

Miss Lily, your ring is awesome!

That is one of the most amazing rings I’ve seen! It is so unique and the value of a family heirloom can never be duplicated by a new piece. Congrats on having such a beautiful ring! :)
