Bridal Bag

February 13th, 2007 @ 3:36 pm by Mrs. Blueberry

I still haven’t decided if I want to carry a purse/bag at the wedding. Since our ceremony and reception are at the same place I won’t have to do much “hauling”, and we’re not doing a dollar dance that I would need to collect money for. But there’s no denying that I’ll be needing tissues, chapstick, and lipgloss throughout the evening. I don’t really want to be burdened with leaving a purse in someone’s care, but I also don’t want to load up Jeff’s tux pockets with all my necessities.

Are you carrying a bridal purse?

I just bought this elegant clutch in champagne ($14.99) from Target:

Its color isn’t too pink-y, and it’s really super cute! I think it should go pretty well with my ivory gown, with its gold and silver accents. Even if the color doesn’t match perfectly, it’s not a huge deal. And I’ll definitely use it after the wedding! I’ll take it on a “test drive” tomorrow night. smiley1016

While browsing, I found a few others in the same price range (< $25.00):

From Payless, the “Lucia” party clutch in gold ($14.99):

From Amazon, La Regale classic clutch in ivory ($24.99):

I bought purse #1 for all my bridesmaids!! Its really pretty in person, and it looks vintage. I love that there are no labels or tags inside or out, so you cant tell its from Tar-jay! =)

it might be a good idea to have one of your bridesmaids carry a bag of some sort with all of you necessities and things you might need.

I love the first! But I didn’t carry anything except my inhaler and a hankercheif, and I had a pocket in my dress. So I didn’t need a purse.

Between my two MOH’s (maid and matron) and my Mom, I don’t think I’ll be lacking for anything!

I wanted something artsy and funky, so I’ll be carrying this:
Made from recycled candy wrappers.

Hehe… I did a post on this this week too! I think it should be live tomorrow. I wasn’t going to get one… and then I couldn’t resist!!

JennyGoLightly — that’s so unique! Are you making it yourself?

I really didn’t want the matching bridal purse, so I originally was going to buy a brown clutch. Then, I came across a bright little apple-green Vera Bradley purse that I already have, and have decided to just use that.

They don’t make the pattern and style bag anymore, but it resembles the Katie (http://www.verabradley.com/Site/Store/ProductDetail.aspx?dept=100&sku=153%3a39& ) … Anyway, I think a purse is a good idea; especially if it’s something small and cheap!

My MOH carried my lipstick and spare tissue, and DH carried chapstick since he knew he would need it too!

During the ceremony (while my singers were singing), I got teary, and my MOH handed me a tissue. I didn’t want to hand her a used tissue, but I didn’t know what to do with it! My DH took it from me and the whole crowd laughed as he smiled and put it in his tux! It’s my favorite part of our wedding video!

I know that wasn’t really related, but I like that story!
