Can I Get That To Go?

February 14th, 2007 @ 6:53 pm by Mrs. Strawberry

The wedding cake is very important to Mr. Strawberry. His cake requirements are three fold:

1.The cake itself most be moist and delicious. (I hate the word moist…but there is no other way to describe cake.)

2. The icing must be creamy and not too rich.

3. It must be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. (He has approved this cake…with some minor tweaking.)

He is very adamant about his criteria. He’s even been researching songs to play during the cake cutting. The front runner being Love You Madly, by Cake. He is also worried about cake going to waste. Dear lord, he’s a handful! :) He seems to think that if there are any left overs that we are going to make room in the fridge for it. I think not. My thighs won’t let me so cake boxes are in order.

Doggy bags for our guests. Is anyone else doing this? Where do I even begin to look for these?

Check out papermart.com. They have a bunch of cake and bakery boxes.

Boys eh? I swear the food is the only thing my FI cares about at the wedding! If he doesn’t get a carving station with a chef carving meat by hand for our guests he might cry. I think it’s funny. But then, I’m being picky about everything else and he thinks that’s funny.

Anyway, you know what? If it were me ordering take out boxes, I’d probably head right to my nearest coffee shop that offers desserts to go and ask them where they order their boxes from. And then I’d offer to pay if they could include my order of boxes in their next wholesale order. And then I’d just stick some pretty stickers on top, and voila. But then, I also drink so much coffee I could keep a few coffee shops in business, so they might do that for me as a favour… I don’t know if you could just walk in off the street and have this tactic work! It would probably be cheaper though.

Haha, that is funny. What is wrong with the word “moist”?! MOIST cake is one of my favorite things in the world. I tell my bf that all the time…”I feel like eating moist cake” hahaha.

I’ve never seen/heard of that idea before…take out boxes (but then again, I haven’t been to very many weddings). I think that’s a pretty brilliant idea. Tell your FI if he doesn’t want to waste cake, you guys can send it to me. =)

isn’t it funny how guys love cake? my fiance wouldn’t let me choose the cake without him (he wants to come along for the tasting!). Everything else he couldn’t care less about… oh wait… the beer, he cares about what kind of beer we serve…

I am a HUGE Cake fan! I like the kind you eat alot too, but I’m refering to your FI’s musical selection. At first, I thought wow that song for cake cutting…Brilliant! But then I thought about the lyrics, and I’m thinkin you should give them a once over before agreeing to this. The first line is something like, “I don’t want to wonder if this is a blunder, I don’t want to sit across the table from you wishing you would die, I want to love you madly” While, it is about love, I’m not sure about the whole, I don’t want to wish you would die thing, not exactly the romantic sentiment you might want.
